Alton College 2026 College Scholarship Award.
In March of this year Alton Rotary were pleased to again offer a scholarship to an Alton College student for their outstanding excellence in the field of Mathematics.
Mike Sanders, our Club President, presented Andrew Fairweather with his award and donation at the evening's presentation event. Andrew is a problem solver, he likes to know how things work from an engineering standpoint. He has made model cars powered by CO2 in F1 for schools and designed parts and printed them with a 3D printer.
A keen scouter he helped organise an event for 2000 participants. He finds it rewarding through the scouts to help other young people succeed. He also enjoys lighting design and playing guitar on his creative side.
He wants to head towards aerospace engineering through either university or an apprenticeship and it is clear that mathematics will be very important in that endeavour.
Alton Rotary wishes him all the best in his future career path, and hope our support will enable his plans become reality for this outstanding student.
