Sometimes support looks like two chairs and a cup of tea. Pour a cuppa, share a blether and help someone feel heard.
A cup of tea may seem like a small thing—but it can be the beginning of trust and connection. 🫖

Volunteering can be an anchor in your own week as much as it is for the family you support!

Home-Start Clacks is looking for caring, reliable Home-Visit Volunteers to walk alongside local families.

Support can look like a blether over a cuppa, getting out for a walk, helping someone find their rhythm with everyday routines, or being a familiar face on the way to an appointment.
You don’t need to have all the answers - sometimes simply showing up, listening and sharing your time can open the door to confidence and connection.

Whether you bring calm anchor energy, practical know-how or plenty of big-kid enthusiasm, there’s a place for you on our team.
Ready to turn a little of your time into something meaningful?

Amy, Jax, and Louise had a fantastic day at the annual Scottish Home-Start UK conference today.

Prof. Josephine Ross opened the day with a wonderful presentation on infant mental health, reinforcing what we as a network firmly believe about the importance of the first 1001 days of a child's life, and how building these healthy foundations early can often prevent the need for services/interventions throughout life.

Tommy Whitelaw led us through a truly inspirational session after lunch, sharing his own experiences to highlight to us all the importance of human connection, and how "kindness is the greatest gift we can ever share".

Louise also had the privilege of co-delivering a session on "Building Inclusive Volunteer Experiences" with Fiona from Home-Start UK. A little daunting, being in a room full of fellow Home-Start team members, all delivering their own fantastic volunteer programmes, but well worth it to share our learning here in Clacks 😀
