Many of our supported families have benefitted from this purrrfect wee charities support in recent years.

If you are able to show them some support, please do 😽

We held our AGM last night, reflecting on the past year, the 187 cats and kittens we cared for and found homes for, the thousands of households across the Forth Valley and beyond that benefitted from our pet food bank, and so much more! 🥳

Looking to the year ahead, we are seeing increased need for our support, and we are ready to meet the demand: we have recently entered a neutering partnership with Cats Protection, we have taken on our very first staff member... but, our greatest challenge is going to be ensuring our shelter can weather the storm, quite literally! After years of temporary fixes, our roof is now beyond "patching up", and we need to replace it fully.

Through applying to trusts and foundations, we have secured just over £30,000 towards this work. But, still need a further £40,000 to make our new roof a reality.

So we are asking YOU, our amazing followers and supporters, to please help us RAISE THE ROOF. Any support you can offer, be it a donation, a like, a share to help us reach a wider audience, will be hugely helpful to us 🙏

This week marked our final Play Roots session before the summer holidays, and what a wonderful way to celebrate! We've spent time enjoying music, games, dancing, and saying goodbye to some of our amazing families moving on to new adventures.

We'd like to wish all of our graduates and their families the very best for the future. Thank you for being such an important part of Play Roots – you will all be greatly missed by the team. 💛

It was an emotional day for us yesterday saying "see you later" (not goodbye!) to our wonderful Megan!

Megan is moving on after 4 years as a Family Support Worker with us. She was the first person to come into what was then, a brand new role, and has truly been instrumental in helping us to shape up the role, and package of support the role can offer.

Some families who have been supported by Megan shared:

"Your an amazing woman who will be so badly missed. You've helped my family through some of the worst times and was always by my side when I felt like giving up..."

"Megan’s support has meant so much to us. I have worked with a lot of ladies but Megan was really special. She was always warm and comforting and nurturing and compassionate. I could tell that she actually did care. She has left a lasting impression on my son, he keeps saying he wants to be a palaeontologist during the week and a “visitor” on the weekends haha! She’s just so easy to talk to and she never makes you feel like she’s there to “help you” or fix you but she’s still professional. We will miss her x”

We will definitely miss your calm, collected nature, dry sense of humour and ability to make any situation better! All the best Megan 🫶👏

Cauldrons were bubbling this week at Play Roots we had great fun making magical potions inspired by our story ‘Room on the Broom’ 🧹✨🪄🧪 Families got creative with lots of lovely smelling ingredients and plenty of glitter! ✨

🌟 New Volunteering opportunity

The Clackmannanshire Family Support Collaborative is looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help at our local wellbeing drop-in hubs in Alloa, Alva, Tullibody, Clackmannan & Sauchie.

This is a great opportunity to:

- Talk with local families
- Signpost people to support and activities in the community
- Gain new skills and training (no experience needed)

We ask for 2 hours per week, with full training and ongoing support provided.
