What a fantastic way to start Volunteers' Week! 💙

On Monday, we welcomed local organisations to our Third Sector Leaders' Forum to celebrate the impact of volunteering and the difference it makes across Clackmannanshire.

Our Chief Officer, Anthea Coulter, reflected on how volunteering has changed over the past 10 years, and how local groups have adapted to challenges including the pandemic and cost of living crisis while continuing to support their communities.

We were also delighted to welcome Keith Brown, who spoke about the important role volunteering can play in helping young people develop skills, build confidence, and access employment opportunities.

Volunteers' Week is a chance to say thank you to everyone who gives their time to help others. It's also an opportunity to celebrate the strength of our Third Sector and the positive impact volunteers, community groups, charities and social enterprises have throughout the Wee County.

To every volunteer in Clackmannanshire – thank you. Your contribution matters, and our communities are stronger because of you.

Power of Youth Day | Volunteers' Week 🌟

Today we're celebrating the young people across Clackmannanshire who are making a difference through volunteering.

Whether they're supporting local charities, helping at community events, championing causes they care about, or developing new skills, young volunteers play a vital role in strengthening our communities.

Through the Saltire Awards, CTSI recognises and celebrates the achievements of volunteers aged 11–25. Over the years, hundreds of young people in the Wee County have taken part, contributing thousands of hours to their communities.

In the last year alone:
• 187 new young people signed up to the Saltire Awards
• 130 awards were achieved by local young volunteers

Since 2019, more than 900 young people have registered for the Saltire Awards in Clackmannanshire, with over 1,000 awards achieved, highlighting the incredible commitment of young people across the county.

To every young volunteer: thank you. Your time, passion and dedication help make Clackmannanshire a better place to live, work and thrive.

Information for residents and anyone looking to donate!

The Gate Community Hub will be preparing food parcels and supplies - making this the best place to take donations!

The team at Devonvale Hall is focused on finding housing and providing health support so may not have capacity to process and distribute donations.

We will share any specific request when we can but the focus right now is on making sure people have food. The easier it is to make the better! We encourage any residents to let us know if they need anything that The Gate doesn't have and we will do our best to source supplies and ensure you have what you need to make the current situation a little bit easier.

You can request support directly through The Gate by texting 07584752922.

If you're looking to donate any supplies but can't get to The Gate to donate then reach out to us! We can help organise collection.

It's Volunteers' Week! 🌟

Every volunteer has a story.

Whether it's gaining confidence, building skills, meeting new people, or making a difference in the community, volunteering can have a lasting impact on both individuals and organisations.

This Volunteers' Week, we're shining a spotlight on Clackmannanshire's Volunteering Portal and hearing from a local volunteer and organisation about how the Portal has helped connect people with meaningful opportunities across the Wee County.

With 56 organisations and more than 130 volunteers already signed up, there's never been a better time to get involved.

We know many people across Clackmannanshire will be concerned following the ongoing ground movement issues in Coalsnaughton, which have now resulted in further evacuations affecting residents in both Benbuck View and Dunmoss View. (plus the further 28 properties in Nechtan Drive and nine properties in Langour as of this afternoon)

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted during what will be an incredibly worrying and uncertain time.

We want to help gather and share a clear list of support available for affected residents and families.

We’re asking local organisations, community groups, businesses, and individuals to let us know if they can offer any support, including:

• Emergency essentials
• Food or hot meals
• Clothing, toiletries, or baby items
• Pet support
• Mental health and wellbeing support
• Transport assistance
• Community spaces, charging points, or WiFi access
• Advice, advocacy, or practical support
• Volunteer help

If you can help, please comment below or message us directly with:
• What support you can offer
• How people can access your support
• Relevant contact details or times

We will do our best to collate and share information to help residents access support during this difficult time.

Please share this post so we can reach as many people as possible. 💙
