💛 A message from our You First family 💛

Today we’re coming together to support one of our incredible Support Workers, whose young grandson is currently in hospital fighting Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) — a fast‑growing blood cancer.

He began treatment with a plan for four rounds of 10‑day chemotherapy. After completing his first round, doctors made the difficult decision that he now needs a much more intensive second round of chemo, followed by a Bone Marrow Transplant.
This is an unimaginably tough journey for him and his family, and we want them to feel the strength of our whole community behind them. 💛

How you can help?
Not just for Roo, but for anyone facing this fight - AML and other blood cancers often rely on bone marrow transplants, and finding a match can be life‑saving. What We’re Looking For..

People living in the areas-
Trowbridge- 15 hours 1 sleep ins Friday or Sunday
Yeovil - 30 hours

OR

Family‑friendly hours – start after the school run, finish before pick‑up!

What we are looking for...
A car driver (essential)
Experience as a Support Worker (minimum 1 year preferred but not essential)
Someone who is kind, reliable, and person-centred – the right attitude is just as important as experience
The Details

Job type: Range of different needs.
Pay: Weekdays £13.05 per hour. Weekends £13.25 per hour.
Location: Somerset (must be able to reliably commute)
Setting: Supported living / homecare / Domiciliary Care
Benefits include: casual dress, company pension, employee discounts, wellbeing programme, and referral scheme.

Support worker, this one’s for you 🖤

You’re doing big, important, life-changing work — but that does not mean you need to run yourself into the ground to prove it.

You can care deeply and have boundaries.

You can be amazing at your job and need rest.
You can support others and still ask for proper pay, respect, and safe work.

Being a good support worker doesn’t mean being available 24/7, saying yes to everything, or pretending burnout is “just part of the job.”
No. That’s not passion. That’s exhaustion in a hi-vis vest.

You matter too.

So here’s your reminder:
✨ Rest is professional.
✨ Boundaries are professional.
✨ Wanting fair pay is professional.
