You will:
✅ Lead the daily operations of a busy, community-focused café
✅ Oversee food preparation, service standards, health & safety, and stock
✅ Support and train young people with learning disabilities in a nurturing environment
✅ Manage staff, mentors, and volunteers
✅ Help develop the café as a sustainable social enterprise
✅ Build confidence, independence, and employability skills in trainees

👤 About You
You will:
✔ Have hospitality management or supervisory experience
✔ Possess strong food preparation and operational skills
✔ Be an effective leader with excellent organisation and communication
✔ Be passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for young people

The Deer Shed is seeking an experienced, motivated, and community-minded Project Manager to support the launch and day-to-day leadership of The Deer Shed Café.

This is an exciting and rewarding role that combines café operations management with training and development leadership. You will play a central role in supporting young people aged 19–25 with additional needs to build skills, confidence, and meaningful pathways into employment.

The Role
The successful candidate will:
• Lead the daily operations of a busy, community-focused café
• Manage food preparation, service standards, health and safety, and stock control
• Support and train young people with learning disabilities in a structured, nurturing environment
• Oversee staff, mentors, and volunteers
• Help shape and develop the café as a sustainable social enterprise
• Foster confidence, independence, and employability skills among trainees

• Have strong café, restaurant, or hospitality experience at a management or supervisory level
• Possess excellent food preparation and operational skills
• Be an effective leader with strong organisational and communication abilities

The Deer Shed Charity supports young people with additional needs to:

Our new café will be a key training space—and you could help shape it.
