The Moira Anderson Foundation believes that actions speak louder than words, so last Tuesday the MAF volunteers were delighted to find a small surprise at June's Volunteer meeting. A tasty treat to thank and celebrate some of the incredible people who give their time, energy, skills and compassion.

From fundraising and events to practical support and community engagement, volunteers play an important role in helping MAF support people affected by Childhood Sexual Abuse.

A special thank you also goes to Enchanted Stars for kindly donating the beautiful balloon display for the meeting. 🎈

🌈 Pride Month 2026 🌈

Pride is celebration.

There is no one way to volunteer.

When you think of volunteering, you might picture fundraising events, knocking on doors or handing out leaflets. But volunteering is so much more!

Every task, big or small, helps create a smoother and more supportive environment for those who attend MAF. Some people volunteer behind the scenes, some help at events, some share their skills, while others give their time to support fundraising or raise awareness.

At the Moira Anderson Foundation, volunteers contribute in many different ways, but they all have one thing in common. They help make a difference 💜.

This Volunteers Week, MAF are celebrating the many ways people choose to get involved and the impact those contributions have on people affected by Childhood Sexual Abuse.

Following the Moira Anderson Foundation's recent Volunteer Open Evening, we asked attendees what stood out to them.

One of the most encouraging things was people realising that volunteering doesn't have to be all or nothing.

Whether you can give an hour, a day, a skill, or simply your enthusiasm, every contribution has value. 💜

Thank you to everyone who came along, shared their thoughts, and explored how they might become part of MAFs volunteer network.

As we begin Volunteers' Week, MAF would like to shine a light on two people who have helped keep the Moira Anderson Foundation running smoothly behind the scenes for the past two years.

A huge thank you to brothers Billy and Robert Cochrane from Airdrie, who have generously volunteered their time, skills and expertise. From fixing noisy doors and hanging pictures, to repairing rusty gates, building equipment, painting the summer house and refreshing our garden furniture, there seems to be no job they couldn't turn their hand to 💜🔨!

Many of the improvements around MAF that staff, volunteers and clients enjoy today have been made possible thanks to their kindness, hard work and willingness to help whenever needed.

While Billy and Robert are now taking a well-earned step back from their volunteering roles, their contribution to MAF will leave a lasting impact.

Everyone at the Moira Anderson Foundation would like to thank Billy and Robert for everything they have done to support the charity and the people it helps.
