Important Statement from 7 Derrys Youth Club Committee
The Committee has decided to postpone Wednesday evening Senior Drop-In sessions for the foreseeable future.
This decision follows a number of weeks of extremely poor behaviour and a lack of respect towards staff. Our staff are there to support and engage with young people, and they deserve to be treated with respect. Abusive behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated.
We remain committed to supporting the young people of our community. Over the coming weeks, we will explore opportunities to provide structured programmes, with further information to follow.
Any parent or guardian who wishes to withdraw their child’s registration and receive a refund of the £5 registration fee can speak to the leader in charge this coming Wednesday evening or text the 7 Derrys Youth Club mobile on 07858 270556.
Please be aware that withdrawing your child’s registration means they will no longer be eligible to take part in the upcoming structured programmes. Places will be limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Continued participation will depend on satisfactory behaviour and engagement with the programme.
Retaining registration does not guarantee a place.
If you have any concerns or queries about this decision, please speak to a member of staff between 6.00pm and 6.30pm on a Wednesday evening.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to provide a safe, respectful and positive environment for young people and staff.
Junior session will run as normal at 6.30pm and will finish at the slightly later time of 8.30pm for the next couple of weeks just as we trial some new ways to engage effectively with the young people.
