We are delighted to congratulate Perennial Chairman Paul Rochford on being awarded an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours for services to horticulture 🌿

Paul has long been a strong advocate for the people who work across horticulture, and this honour reflects his contribution to the industry.

Commenting on the award, Paul said:
"This is a great honour which I am very proud to accept. I am always keen to promote the importance of the horticulture industry and I hope that this award will help to emphasise the vital role that it plays in our lives. We need to value, support and encourage the people working in green industries and I think that this award will help me to continue to highlight the significance of their contribution."

Congratulations, Paul, on this well-deserved recognition.

This month's Perennial Gardens update comes from our friends at Fullers Mill Garden in Suffolk 🌿

Thanks to the dedication of their volunteers, Fullers Mill now has a limited stock of Phlox ‘Burgi’, a beautiful historic variety with links to Christopher Lloyd of Great Dixter and the Burgess family of Wye, Kent.

Beautifully scented, long flowering and wonderfully mildew resistant, this elegant violet-purple Phlox is rarely available. The story of how it came to be propagated at Fullers Mill is a fascinating one.

There's always something to discover at York Gate, from winding paths and hidden corners to bees among the flowers and wildlife in the meadow 🐝🌻🐞🦗

In the latest piece from our Writer in Residence, Andrew Jackson, he reflects on why gardens can be such special places for children, and how a love of gardening often begins with simple moments of curiosity and wonder.

There is something wonderfully hopeful about children in gardens. Perhaps it is because children instinctively understand what many adults forget, that a garden is not simply a place of maintenance or display, but somewhere alive with possibility. A garden is a place for discovery. For muddy hands a...
