Very much cooler and more pleasant conditions were present when the ‘team’ arrived this week. It was noticeable that there were far more leaves than usual at this time of year. This is probably due to the long dry summer we are having.
As a result, Jim was using the leaf blower/vacuum machine both on the platform and on the approaches. Michael R was concentrating on using the blower around the steps.
The station was busier than usual this week, which is not surprising since 59,000 passengers passed through in the last year, an increase from 49,000 the year before!
As always, this weeks photos are courtesy of Franco, and Mrs H provided the refreshments.

We had a full team in action at the station this week with Michael R, Jim and Lyndon in action. The approach, both sets of steps to the platforms and both station access points were cleared of any debris. The weeds growing in the stones outside were also removed. Both platforms were cleared and the train was inspected for any further deterioration.
It was noticed the at least a couple of the school banners, depicting children’s train journeys, had been vandalised by drawing on them with a black felt tip!
Michael H had visited the station during the week to start the planting process of begonias etc.
Jim noticed that weeds had started to emerge so their removal will a priority when we return to the station.
Franco came along fresh from his holidays and Mrs H provided well received refreshments!
