💙 Drowning Prevention Week 2026 - 13th to 20th June.💙
As a charity supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing, we know that staying safe is an important part of helping children and young people thrive.
This Drowning Prevention Week, we're helping to raise awareness of the importance of water safety. Whether it's a trip to the beach, time spent by rivers and lakes, or enjoying water-based activities during the summer holidays, understanding the risks around water can help keep young people safe.
We encourage parents, carers and young people to take a few moments to learn about the Water Safety Code and the simple steps everyone can take to prevent accidents and save lives.
By having open conversations and building awareness, we can help children and young people enjoy the outdoors safely and confidently.

If you get into trouble in the water, remember:
Float to Live. 💙
If you fall in or become tired, stay calm, float on your back, and call for help. If someone else is in trouble, throw them something that floats.
How to float:
• Tilt your head back to keep your airway clear
• Keep your ears submerged in the water
• Relax and focus on your breathing
• Spread your arms and legs to stay balanced
• Gently move your hands and feet if needed
