in Hyndburn since 2010. Proud owners of

Accrington Stanley Community Trust is a non-profit, self-funding registered charity (Number 1139575) and community organisation that has been working within the Hyndburn community since 2007. After becoming a registered charity and re-forming as a Community Trust in 2010, the organisation has seen an accelerated rise and growth. Accrington Stanley Community Trust was originally established under the banner of Football in the Community in 2007, with the aim to bring the professional club and their community closer together. Natural progression from Football in the Community resulted in the scheme being taken on to work alongside and under the guidance of the Football League Trust. Accrington Stanley Community Trust has expanded at a phenomenal rate and we now work in 4 key themed areas: Sports Participation, Education, Health & Wellbeing and Social Inclusion. Football and, in particular, Accrington Stanley Football Club has the ability to engage people, improve community cohesion and raise the hopes and aspirations of the people of Hyndburn. As a Club we are committed to ensuring that we respond to local needs whilst working strategically in line with regional and national agendas. We all recognise that sport can play a prominent role in addressing major issues such as obesity, anti-social behaviour, health, employment and attainment. Through key partnerships and a robust multi-agency approach, we ensure that we can achieve our aims and objectives effectively and efficiently. Our partnerships work underpins the entire scheme delivery programme and enables us to work strategically within Hyndburn. These relationships enable us to engage with underrepresented and hard to reach groups.

๐ŸŽพ PADEL IS TAKING SHAPE AT STANLEY SPORTS HUB!

If you've visited the Hub recently, you'll have probably noticed things are looking a little different outsideโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€

Work on Accrington's new covered padel courts is moving on quickly, and we're now getting to the stage where you can really start to picture the finished courts.

The levels for both courts are now in place, with the tarmac base and canopy among the next big stages of the development.

Work is also progressing on the new pathways, access areas and electrics ready for the court floodlights.

For Accrington Stanley Community Trust, this development is about more than adding another facility to Stanley Sports Hub.

It's about creating another opportunity for local people to get active, try something completely new and enjoy sport with friends and family.

๐ŸŽพThe two courts will be covered too, so we'll be able to offer padel throughout the year โ€” even when the Lancashire weather inevitably turns up!

We shouldnโ€™t have to think about personal safety when weโ€™re out walking the dog, coming home from the pub or out running. But we do.

Iโ€™m strong, fit and have over 45 yearsโ€™ experience in a combat sport, yet I still feel nervous walking in the dark or in quiet places. I check over my shoulder. If I feel that way, I know many others do too.

Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m running a six-week womenโ€™s course combining practical personal-safety skills, fitness and fun. Weโ€™ll work on spotting when a situation feels wrong, breaking the pattern, creating space and responding with purpose, with some fundamentals to help you get away and raise the alarm if needed.

Iโ€™m a qualified British Judo coach and fitness professional, ex-military, and a 2026 World Judo Champion. Come as you are; leave stronger and more confident.

Wednesdays, 7โ€“8pm | 4 Novemberโ€“16 December (no session 18 November)

At Accrington Stanley Community Trust, weโ€™re always looking for new opportunities to support our Army Veterans, helping them improve their health and wellbeing, relax, socialise and try something new.

Weโ€™d love to hear from local businesses, organisations and activity providers who would be interested in collaborating with us to provide our veterans with new experiences, activities and opportunities. Whether you can offer free sessions, discounted rates or a one-off experience, weโ€™d love to explore how we could work together!

Some ideas could include:

Weโ€™d love to build positive partnerships with businesses that share our passion for supporting veterans. Weโ€™re keen to discuss opportunities to collaborate, whether thatโ€™s through providing activities, offering exclusive discounts, hosting sessions or developing something together that benefits both our veterans and your business.

This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to those who have served our country, make a positive difference to their lives and build meaningful connections within our local community.

If you run a business, know someone who does, or have an idea for an activity our veterans might appreciate, please get in touch or comment below. Weโ€™d love to hear from you! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Letโ€™s work together to give something back to those who have given so much. ๐Ÿ’š
