A big thanks all of you who made the effort to come out and see the Abram Morris Dance yesterday, Saturday 27th. The Abram Morris Dancers would like to extend our thanks to Minnesota Traditional Morris for bringing their version of the dance to Morris Ground. The Abram Morris Dance is one of those pieces of cultural heritage that has extended its reach beyond its place of origin. It was a privilege and a pleasure to have them provide the dance this year, and we wish them safe travels for the rest of their tour of the UK.

Keeping a local tradition alive requires time, commitment, and community, and doesn't happen without people getting involved. If anyone has an interest in helping this unique event continue into the future, please contact the team via FB.

The Abram Morris Dance is traditionally danced on the last Saturday in June at The Morris Ground on Park Lane, Abram. Whilst the current Abram Morris team are on hiatus, we are delighted that on Saturday 27th of June 2026, at 11am The Abram Morris Dance will be performed by Minnesota Traditional Morris with members of Abram Morris in attendance.

This is a dance which is unique in having its own dedicated ground in Abram, near Wigan, so if you are free, it would be good to see you there for the dance, and to keep this tradition alive.
