After six and half years, the project has reached a triumphant conclusion after restoring hundreds of hectares of peatland across Wales.
The project has
• Cleared the equivalent of 736 Principality Stadium pitches of invasive plants. This includes Molinia grass, birch, willow and rhododendron.
• Installed 150 peat dams on the bogs to retain water.
• Installed 114km of water retaining peat bunds - the same distance as driving from Cardiff to Carmarthen.
Thank you to all the farmers, land owners, contractors and our partners for all their support, we couldn’t have done this without you😊
