- Advocacy Age Cymru Dyfed provides support to people 50+ in the Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion areas. We’ve a range of services that align with specific needs of the older community in the region, from tackling rural isolation in group settings to digital inclusion and help in the home. We offer financial and care home advice and help accessing welfare and dementia support. And if we can’t do it, we have extensive contacts who can! We work closely with local authorities, third sector bodies and other support services.

Carmarthenshire Befriending Life Links Shake, Rattle and Stroll group embraced the cold wind and enjoyed a walk near the Millenium coastal path and back to Burry Port harbour today!

Join shake, rattle and stroll, 10am Wednesdays from Sea View Terrace car park, Burry Port. Every week we take routes around Burry Port harbour, Pembrey Old harbour and Millennium Coastal path.

Join us for a community lunch, where Jourdan and Sharen from Dolen Teifi will be there to say hello, show you the vehicle and have a friendly chat about the project.

It’s

A BIG thank you to all our Digital Champions, staff and volunteers who have helped people across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion feel more confident using technology.

From online shopping, downloading apps and budgeting to setting up devices, using smart speakers, scanning QR codes, sending emails and solving technical problems—you have supported people with all this and much more!

This year, we have been in contact with 944 people ranging from individual face-to-face sessions, group activities, meetings at local venues and remote support.

Thank you for your time, patience and dedication. Your support helps people stay connected, access services and make the most of the digital world.

For many years, Age Cymru Dyfed has helped older people get online, build confidence and access essential services.

We need your help to continue this work. By completing our digital survey, you can help us understand the barriers people face and demonstrate the need for digital support across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working Mental Health Service Project Support Officer to join our dedicated team. As a key member of our organisation, you will be liaising with clients to complete initial introductions to the service and manage expectations, provide telephone support to clients, ensure that accurate records are kept, and support engagement officers with onward referrals and mid-point assessment.

Ceredigion Befriending Life Links Brew Buddies group met this week at Morrisons Aberystwyth, and it was lovely to see everyone coming together for a chat and cuppa. We were delighted to welcome new attendees, who are looking forward to joining us again at our next meet-up. It is a lovely opportunity to meet people, build meaningful connections and make new friends.

We were pleased to welcome Rhian Bowen-Davies Older People’s Commissioner for Wales, who took time to listen to and engage with our members. A great opportunity to learn more about Rhian’s role and the work she does as an advocate for older people across Wales. A big thanks Rhian for joining us and to everyone who came along and helped make the session so enjoyable. Our next meet up is Wednesday, 28 October 11am at Emlyn Café, Tan-y-groes, SA43 2JE.

The award follows an extensive programme of work undertaken by colleagues across Age Cymru Dyfed, demonstrating dedication to recognising, valuing and supporting vital contribution made by unpaid carers.

Unpaid carers play an important role in supporting family members, friends and loved ones. Their contribution is invaluable, yet caring can often have a significant impact on a person's own health, wellbeing and quality of life. The achievement will be celebrated at an award ceremony on 27 October at Parc Dewi Sant.
