3rd Aberystwyth Scouts Croeso i 3ydd Scouts Aberystwyth dudalen. Welcome to 3rd Aberystwyth Scouts page. We provide young people with Skills for Life. Interested in joining us?

Get in touch today. What do we do? We meet every week during term time and run a wide range of activities for young people. We do a bit of everything from camping and climbing to cooking and hiking. Our aim is to give young people the opportunities to develop and grow as people. We aim to prepare our scouts for what lies ahead and broaden their understanding of the world. As an orga

nisation Scouts is dedicated to working towards the Sustainable Development Goals as set out by the UN. We work towards these in our local community and let the young people take the lead on making this happen. What age ranges do you run? We have 4 sections at 3rd Aberystwyth. Squirrels is for 4-5 year olds
Beavers is for 6-8 year olds
Cubs is for 8-10 year olds
Scouts is for 10-14 year olds

We have a close partnership with Eir Explorers to provide scouting for 14-18 year olds. For any adults who are looking to get in on the fine we welcome any 18+ year olds to get involved and volunteer. Our volunteers get to join in as much as possible and gain incredible experience in too many ways to list. How often do we go camping? It wouldn't be scouts without camping! As things return to normal we aim to get back out camping as soon and as often as possible. We have lots of activities in mind, including fire lighting, kayaking, air-rifle shooting, cooking and wide games! What volunteer opportunities are there? We couldn't run without our incredible volunteers. We need people at every level to help make this happen. Occasional helpers and leaders make our weekly activities happen and work together to provide our fab programme. Our executive committee always need more help planning fundraisers, coordinating with external organisations and giving us feedback from parents in the group. Even if its just doing a bit if cleaning or cooking dinner on camp there is always room for more help. Scouts is an all inclusive and accessible organisation. Anyone is welcome and we are keen to ensure no one is left out. We are open to everyone, locals or students and would love to hear from you if you are interested. ✨ Wythnos Gwirfoddolwyr Hapus! / Happy Volunteers’ Week! ✨

Ni fyddai 3ydd Aberystwyth yn gallu rhedeg heb waith caled ac ymroddiad ein gwirfoddolwyr anhygoel. Boed yn mynychu cyfarfodydd adrannol wythnosol, cyfarfodydd ymddiriedolwyr chwarterol, helpu i gadw ein hoffer yn drefnus, neu roi help llaw pryd bynnag y gallant, rydym yn hynod ddiolchgar am eu hamser, eu cefnogaeth a’u hymrwymiad i’n grŵp.

👏 Diolch i bob un o’n gwirfoddolwyr am helpu i ddarparu anturiaethau, cyfleoedd a Sgiliau am Oes i’n pobl ifanc.

3rd Aberystwyth simply wouldn’t be able to run without the hard work and dedication of our amazing volunteers. Whether they attend weekly section meetings, quarterly trustee meetings, help keep our kit organised, or lend a hand whenever they can, we are incredibly grateful for their time, support and commitment to our group.

🐺 Cafodd ein Cubs ymweliad gwych ag orsaf dân Aberystwyth, lle cawsant ddysgu mwy am waith y gwasanaeth tân 🔥

Roedd y Cubs yn cael eistedd y tu mewn i’r injan dân, defnyddio’r pibell ddŵr a hyd yn oed rhoi cynnig ar rai o’r offer arbennig 👨‍🚒🧯

👏 Diolch enfawr i Wasanaeth Tân Aberystwyth am groesawu’r Cubs a rhoi noson mor hwylus ac addysgiadol iddynt!

🐺 Our Cubs had a fantastic visit to Aberystwyth Fire Station, where they learnt more about the work of the fire service 🔥

The Cubs got to sit inside the fire engine, spray the hose and even try on some of the specialist equipment 👨‍🚒🧯

👏 A huge thank you to Aberystwyth Fire an Rescue Service for welcoming the Cubs and giving them such a fun and informative evening

🦫 Beavers – Dathlodd y Beavers eu pen-blwydd yn 40 oed gyda pharti arbennig 🎉 Hefyd, fe wnaethom ffarwelio â’n harweinydd anhygoel Alex. Diolch am bopeth rwyt ti wedi’i wneud dros y Beavers, a phob lwc ar gyfer y dyfodol 💚

🐺 Cubs – Cafodd y Cubs ymweliad gwych â’r orsaf dân a dysgu mwy am waith y gwasanaeth tân 🚒🔥

⚜️ Scouts – Bu’r Scouts yn cael sesiwn glasurol o glymu clymau a gweithgareddau gwaith tîm 🪢🤝

🐿️ Squirrels – Squirrels blasted off into space on our Space Explorers night, with lots of out-of-this-world fun and activities 🚀🌌

🦫 Beavers – Beavers celebrated their 40th birthday with a special party 🎉 We also said goodbye to our amazing leader Alex. Thank you for everything you’ve done for Beavers, and good luck for the future 💚

🐿️ One of our Squirrels had the amazing opportunity to go on an area trip to see Bluey’s Big Play in Cardiff! Along with some of our leaders and other Squirrels from across Ceredigion, they travelled all the way to sing, dance and enjoy the fantastic show 🕺🎶🌟

🏕️✨ Gwersyll Cubs & Scouts 3ydd Aberystwyth! ✨🏕️

🐺⚜️ Cafodd ein Cubs a Scouts benwythnos gwych ar wersyll yn llawn antur, hwyl a sgiliau newydd! Drwy gydol y penwythnos roedd pawb yn rhoi cynnig ar daflu tomahawk ac yn gweithio gyda’i gilydd ar weithgareddau pioneering gwych. Gwnaeth y bobl ifanc eu cinio eu hunain drwy “backwards cooking”, a buont hefyd yn mynd am dro ac yn archwilio’r ardal. Gorffennwyd y diwrnod gyda noson ffilm 🎬🍿

👏 Diolch enfawr i’n holl wirfoddolwyr a helpodd i drefnu a rhedeg y gwersyll, ac i’r arweinwyr a roddodd o’u hamser i fynd â’r bobl ifanc i ffwrdd am benwythnos mor wych!

🏕️✨ 3rd Aberystwyth Cubs & Scouts Camp! ✨🏕️

🐺⚜️ Our Cubs and Scouts had an amazing weekend away packed with adventure, fun and new skills! Throughout the weekend everyone had a go at tomahawk throwing and worked together on some brilliant pioneering activities. The young people also made their own lunch by backwards cooking and headed out for a walk to explore the area. Then the day ended with a film night! 🎬🍿

👏 A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who helped organise and run the camp, and to the leaders who gave up their time to take the young people away for such a fantastic weekend!

Over the past few weeks our Squirrels have been helping keep the area tidy with litter picks, while our Beavers have been exploring Penglais Woods and learning all about nature and the outdoors. 🌿
