OPERA 30 | MEET THE CAST OF GIANNI SCHICCHI
The cast is assembled. The family is dysfunctional. And there’s a will involved. What could possibly go wrong?
Meet the cast bringing Puccini’s gloriously chaotic comedy Gianni Schicchi to life:
Timothy Nelson: Gianni Schicchi
Jennifer Clark: Lauretta
Joseph Doody: Rinuccio
Georgia Mae Bishop: Zita
Dafydd Allen: Gherardo
Lowri Probert: Nella
Samuel Pantcheff: Betto
Wyn Pencarreg: Simone
India Harding: La Ciesca
Alex Pratley: Spinelloccio / Ser Amantio
As part of Opera 30, we’ll be asking the cast a few questions about the production, their characters and their own opera memories.
But first we want to ask you, who is the most memorable, or funniest, character in Gianni Schicchi, and why?
Is it the scheming Schicchi himself? The lovestruck young couple? One of the increasingly desperate relatives? Or someone else entirely?
Tell us who you’d pick in the comments.
Gianni Schicchi opens at The Hafren, Newtown, on Friday 23 October.
