Good evening all, we are getting lots of messages regarding the fire on the waste land adjacent to the Stute on Powell Street. We are not sure how it started but needless to say the authorities will investigate.

Thank you to the people who called the fire brigade, (fire crews had to leave a mountain to attend) and special thanks to residents and people in the surrounding community, who held hose pipes, carried buckets of water and worked hard to stop the fire getting to houses, cars and the Stute. You're all heroes in our eyes and we can't thank you enough.

If you have any information regarding how it started please contact the Police on 101 or Crimestoppers to report anonymously on 0800 555 111

Together we are stronger, reporting these issues to authorities will ensure that resources are focused in the right area. Thanks again.

We recently had a visit from the Plaid Cymru Senedd Members Niamh Salkeld - Plaid Cymru Delyth Jewell AS/MS and Lindsay Whittle AM (South Wales East)

They were blown away by the plans for our 'Stute'. We are grateful to them for taking time out to visit and this report (see link) has been added to their website.

**Abertillery Instutute is not affiliated to any political parties but we appreciate any support from all those who take interest in our project.

Our Save our Stute Abertillery charity shop volunteers are waiting to see you. We are in New Ashes in the Arcade. We have a treasure trove of pre-loved items waiting for new homes. If you haven't visited before, come and have a look, lots of our clothes are donated with the tags still on. No shame in charity shop treasure hunting, saves money, reduces the amount going into landfill, good for the planet and helps us reach our dream to reopen YOUR Stute for OUR community. You know it makes sense. ♥️💙
