Aberdour Resettlement and Support is a group of local people working with the organisations Reset and Citizens UK to provide a home for a refugee family in Aberdour, Fife through community sponsorship.

We are seeking an English tutor able to work with two adults learning English as a second language. They are beginners who have recently started ESOL classes with Fife Council once a week but would appreciate some additional support.

Tutoring would be paid, and days/times can be negotiated. Looking for a tutor with some qualifications and/or experience who would be available for at least 1 hour per week.

We have been working hard over the last few months to prepare a new application to the community sponsorship scheme, and it has been lovely to welcome some new volunteers to the team. Earlier this month we were matched with a family who are expected to arrive in Aberdour in February.

The family do not speak any English, but we have had initial contact with them, and they are very much looking forward to resettling here. You can find out more about our community sponsorship partners and the initiative we're involved with here https://www.sponsorrefugees.org/

We remain incredibly grateful for everyone's contributions which continue to sustain our work. We are not currently fundraising but there are some items that would either be useful (a thermometer) or really add to the welcome (children's books).
