Liam Thom - Challenging The World For Children With Cancer.

So this time next week Steve Law and myself will be up to something daft;

We'll be taking part in a Guinness World Records attempt for the Longest Game of Outdoor Singles Bowls.

We initially planned this in 2020 and obviously things went south so we are finally going again, sadly, not only has my waistline increased, the record has increased in that time by about another 4 hours hahaha.

We'll be starting at 9am on Friday 31st May, finishing around 7.30pm on Saturday 1st June, totaling over 34 hours.

Bowls Scotland have sorted out umpires on 4 hour rotations for the entirely of the event and Kemnay Social & Bowling Club members have come together to help with witnessing, timekeeping etc to ensure a smooth running of the weekend.

We'll also be Livestreaming the whole event on Facebook & Youtube.

Fundraising will be collated in the one Justgiving page before being split evenly between Young Lives vs Cancer and UCAN Urological Cancer Charity.

Well would you Adam and Eve it. Another 30+ miles covered today and we’ve about 13 left to go… We’re almost there!!!

I feel I’ve said long days a lot but they are. I was up like 14 hours ago and my feet are actually bleeding. Split the webbing between my big toe and first toe on my left foot - that’ll take time to recover 🤣🤣🤣

Rain is on, wind is wild, I do have a campsite though so fingers crossed if I do blow away, someone will rescue me.

Hopefully live on Facebook the back of 1/2pm - can’t actually believe in 2 days time I’ll wake up and not bust out a marathon distance and then some. I feel like this is my life now.

Made it to the Broadford Hotel and day 9 of 11 is complete. I think I’m just about reaching my physical capabilities though - mentally I’m still all there (well… 😳👀🤣).. and raring to go but my legs are now catching up with me and going… WTF is this AGAIN?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Going to get a shower, go for tea about 6.30pm and then tomorrow it will be a case of leaving as early as possible, finishing as late as possible and being as close to Neist Point as I can be. 16 hours of walking left - I hope to do maybe 12 of them tomorrow, we’ll see, be somewhere between Struan & Dunvegan Castle.

It’s almost home time folks - and thanks to that couple I met in the wee coffee shop earlier for their donation, I’d been stuck on £19,050 for a wee while so that is ideal. Cheers again!
