Help Us Roll Over Our Target: A New Wheelchair-Accessible Minibus for Orchard Brae Pupils
Our big fundraising goal this year is to purchase a brand-new, fully accessible minibus for our school, and we need your help to reach our £70,000 target.
A minibus is absolutely essential for our pupils. It gives them the freedom to get out into the community, participate in local events, and enjoy vital learning experiences outside the classroom. Currently, we only have one bus, which unfortunately means many of our children are missing out.
Why public transport isn't enough:
• Limited wheelchair spaces: Most public buses only have room for one or two wheelchairs at a time.
• No guaranteed return: We cannot guarantee spaces on the way back, risking our pupils being stranded.
• Suitability: Public transit often cannot accommodate the complex medical and sensory needs of our group.
We have a long way to go to reach £70,000, and every bit of support counts.
How you can help today:
• Organize an event: Host a bake sale, a sponsored walk, or a fun dress-down day.
• Make a donation: Every pound gets our pupils closer to their next trip.
• Match funding / Nominations: Ask if your employer has a charity nomination scheme or offers corporate match-funding.
