Hi all

Inclusion Scotland has launched a new survey to gather first-hand experiences of how cuts to Self Directed Support and Direct Payments are affecting disabled people who use Option 1 of Self Directed Support (SDS) to manage their social care support. We are asking for your help to ensure this reaches the people who need it.
We know that changes to support are happening across Scotland. These cuts are reducing independence, increasing pressure on unpaid carers, and limiting peopleโ€™s ability to live the life they choose. To understand the scale and nature of what is happening, we need evidence directly from those who are experiencing it.
We would be grateful if you could share this survey with any disabled people, carers or personal assistants you support who use Direct Payments. Your networks are vital for making sure individuals who may not see our communications still have the opportunity to share their views.

Complete our survey online here: https://bit.ly/SDS-Survey-IS
Download the Easy Read version of our survey here: https://inclusionscotland.org/news/sds-survey

Thank you in advance for helping us gather this essential insight. The findings, along with research and engagement by others, will help build a stronger picture of what is happening on the ground and will inform our influencing work with national and local decision makers.

Local and regional news plays a crucial role in amplifying community voices, preserving identities, and fostering democracy. STV North has been instrumental in providing balanced coverage beyond the Central Belt, ensuring diverse perspectives are heard. Centralising services risks eroding local representation, as seen in other sectors like police and fire services. The proposed cuts not only jeopardize jobs but also threaten the North East of Scotland's visibility nationally. Supporting the petition is a vital step in advocating for the importance of regional reporting and preserving the region's unique voice.
