From practical tips to funding support, we're here to make life a little easier. Scarf is an accomplished social enterprise, delivering a positive impact to householders and organisations throughout Scotland. Headquartered in Aberdeen, we recognise the needs of householders and organisations, offering them the support they need to develop better living and working environments. We deliver energy advice programmes such as Home Energy Scotland (funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust) and HEAT (Home Energy Advice Team) services in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Perth & Kinross.

Struggling with heating oil or LPG costs?

The Emergency Heating Oil Scheme has been extended, offering £300 to eligible households in Scotland, with the option to apply twice during the scheme period.

You may be eligible if you:

- Use heating oil or LPG to heat your home
- Pay for your own fuel
- Live in the property as your main home
- Bought fuel on or after 1 April 2026 (not paid yet), or are about to place an order
- Haven’t received a payment in the last three months

The scheme is aimed at supporting lower-income households and people experiencing financial hardship or vulnerability.

You can also call 0800 0487 413, although applying online is recommended due to high demand.

📣Volunteers needed! 📣

CFINE are looking for new volunteers to join our team at our emergency food access point.
This is an excellent opportunity to join our team of volunteers. All enquiries are welcome, whether you are looking for something to fill your spare time, meet new people or gain experience for your CV!

The role will include working at our emergency food access point, taking postcodes, serving the public, and helping to restock.

We are looking for multiple volunteers that can cover the shifts below 👇

🍏 Monday 9am – 12pm and 12pm – 3pm
🍏Wednesday 12pm – 3pm
🍏Thursday 12pm – 3pm

What a success! 🙌 This STV footage gives you a taste of the day.

Empower Aberdeen brought 60+ charities, community groups and support organisations together at Aberdeen Music Hall last week, connecting people with support and creating new connections across the city.

And it wasn’t just us who thought it was a success. DPHS Aberdeen - Disabled Persons Housing Service Aberdeen said it was “amazing to see it so well attended by the public” and that the event had already led to new referrals for their service.

Alcohol & Drugs Action described the event as “brilliant for making connections in the third sector and show the public how we can support them”.

A huge thank you to every organisation that took part, everyone who came along, Lauren Mitchell for hosting the day, and Great British Energy for supporting this year’s event.

It was brilliant to see Aberdeen’s support network come together. 💜 We hope you found it useful!

At TLC we have two main projects - The Foodbank and our Befriending service. We are keen to get a new wave of befriending started up again.
