Aberdeen Cyrenians Anyone and everyone can be overwhelmed by crisis. We are there to give practical support and hope.

Aberdeen Cyrenians meets the basic needs of its service users which includes water, shelter, food, clothing and toiletries. We’re delighted that ATAP – Aberdeen Task & Activation Partnership has been shortlisted for an SCVO Scottish Charity Award in the Partnership of the Year category.

Since launching in 2025, ATAP has brought partners across Aberdeen together to help prevent homelessness before crisis point, already supporting 68 people to avoid homelessness through early help, practical support and joined-up working.

This nomination is a real recognition of what can happen when organisations work together to support people and communities.

Last Wednesday’s UMF Masterclass with Dr Julie was a powerful reminder of how deeply redundancy can affect people not just our income, but our identity, purpose, and routine. 💬💙

As Dr Julie said, “When your whole world comes crumbling down around you, people are at huge risk.”

That’s why we’re launching NorthBridge in Aberdeen city centre in Spring 2026 - a free co working and support hub for anyone facing career change or uncertainty. 🌉✨

NorthBridge will offer:
• Free co working space 🪑
• Workshops & skills sessions 📚
• Pathways into training, employment & volunteering 🚀
• Support with wellbeing, finances & next steps 🤝

If you or someone you know is going through change or redundancy, you’re not alone. A new beginning is closer than you think. 💛

🎉 We’re delighted to share that Aberdeen Cyrenians has been awarded funding through the SSEN Transmission Regional Community Benefit Fund! 🎉

This support will enable us to develop NorthBridge - a new accessible co‑working hub in the centre of Aberdeen designed to provide connection, purpose and practical support for workers facing redundancy and change across the North‑East.

Importantly, NorthBridge is not about duplicating existing support.
Instead, it will create a single, welcoming space where partners can come together, making it easier for people to access the information, conversations and opportunities they need, all in one place.

NorthBridge will offer:
🟣A collaborative co‑working space where individuals can connect
🟣Volunteering and entrepreneurial pathways for people looking to grow, test ideas or contribute their skills
🟣Support to help navigate change

We know that work is often closely linked to how we see ourselves our confidence, our identity, and our place in the community. When work changes unexpectedly, people deserve a space that supports them as a whole person, not just their employment needs.

We’re grateful to SSEN Transmission for recognising the importance of investing in spaces that promote resilience, connection and shared working across the region, helping to deliver our vision for a Just Transition rooted in people not policy.
