We are all safely home from our Branch Annual Away Weekend & what a super time we all had. Fantastic music from The Frank Thomson Band - Frank on accordion, Erin Smith on fiddle & Brian Watt on drums 👏👏🎶🎵🎶👏👏
We had dancers from Aberdeen, Banffshire, Inverness, Dundee, Dunfermline, Helensburgh, West Lothian, Hamilton & Clydesdale, Herts & Borders & Oxford RSCDS Branches. A lot of miles travelled to join us at the wonderful Salutation Hotel in Perth with a beautiful ballroom, superb food & the best staff ever 👍👍
Our Teacher for the weekend was Fiona Mackie from Dundee & she gave us 2 fantastic classes with good & unknown to us dances on Saturday morning. On Sunday she bravely tackled Mrs Stuart Linnell & believed in us enough to get us through it (some better than others) ! It was a pleasure to be in the classes which were full of fun, fitness & friendship which dancing is all about & dancing to Frank’s super tunes 👣🩰
Another very successful weekend, thanks who all attended especially the dancers from other branches who swell the numbers🪗🎻🥁🥂🍷

What a superb night I had with about 30 from the Branch Ceilidh class at the Aurora dance group’s 30th Anniversary Ceilidh ! It was a fun evening with their French, Italian & Swedish visitors all demonstrating their National dances & allowing us to try them - a lot of laughter was had with us getting all tied up in knots in some of them. We did all know the Swedish Masquerade though as it’s a favourite at the class. The visitors were all very keen to try our Scottish Ceilidh dances & the dance floor was full all night.
The music from the Aurora 6 piece band was fantastic with our Chair Joshua playing the lead on his big ‘whistle’ all evening & Graham a committee member on moothie & drums 🎶🎵🎶
The Stovies were delicious & plentiful & I saw lots of hungry dancers having seconds 😋😋
I arrived home at 00.30 very happy & proud of the class 👏👏👏👏
