More celebrations!
Last night we attended the Highland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association 2026 CARAs (Cadet Adult Recognition Awards) presentation ceremony, where adult volunteers are nominated by cadets.
After hearing just some of the wonderful citations, all written by cadets (watch the video, link below), the Winners and Highly Commended volunteers were presented with a certificate by the Lord Lieutenant's Cadet of Aberdeen (with her boss assisting!), and a prize from the category sponsors. The other nominees will receive a letter of recognition.

And the Highland District Sea Cadets winner is ...

PO (SCC) E Robertson from Sea Cadets Inverness.

At the Northern Area Conference on Saturday I was very proud to receive on behalf of the District a certificate of high appreciation and recognition from our Area Officer.

We have been nominated for a National Award!

Level 2 Food Safety Award Enrolment 🙌

Volunteers involved in the preparation or serving of food, Cadets participating in Catering Specialisation courses can also register for enrolment on this course when they have completed the Catering Basic Course.

The BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community will help you develop a wide variety of skills including effective communication, career planning, the value of volunteering and character development.

You can expect to study units including:
📌 Personal development through adventurous activities
📌 Employment skills in uniformed organisations
📌Fundamentals of nautical studies
📌Land navigation by map and compass

Aimed at cadets aged 16-18, this nationally recognised qualification will enhance further education or job applications, and it also looks great on a CV alongside school and college work.
