Denis Law Legacy Trust - Streetsport

We reduce anti-social behaviour and youth crime through free sport, activity and creative endeavour.

Denis Law Legacy Trust is a registered charity that operates and delivers a number of free-to-access programmes in Aberdeen, Scotland. Streetsport, its flagship programme, is a diversionary tactics initiative based from Robert Gordon University. Our goal is to reduce the number of instances of youth crime and anti-social behaviour by promoting health and wellbeing and encouraging inclusivity through sport, physical activity and creative endeavour.

We recently shared a story about one of our young volunteers Marcus who designed a football shirt representing Scotland in collaboration with Design FC and Denis Law Legacy Trust, as part of Design FC's global Youth Creative Collective.

The shirt is now on display at Space LES gallery in Manhattan's Lower East Side, NY.

Denis Law Legacy Trust has unveiled its brand new Legacy Games in Aberdeen, celebrating inclusive sport for all ages and abilities. ⚽💛

The 2026 Legacy Games, hosted at Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV), kick off on Friday 10th July with “Play Your Way”, a brand-new inclusive sports day delivered in partnership between the Denis Law Legacy Trust and fellow Aberdeen-based charity, We Too SC045895

This is the first time an event of this kind will be held, offering local children and young people with additional support needs (ASN) the opportunity to experience sport in a fun, flexible and fully accessible way.

With no competition or pressure, the focus is on fun, confidence and accessibility, ensuring everyone can take part, feel welcome and be themselves 💚

A HUGE thank you to our amazing Kiltwalkers from last Sunday! 👏

Through miles, changing weather and some with sore feet, every single walker crossed the finish line with a smile on their face!

Special shout outs to our new team members, including 5-year-old Georgie and her Grandad Keith, plus our Granite City Speaks team.

Big thank you to the Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP team for joining us again this year and sporting a touch of tartan as they set off from Bellfield Park in Banchory to Aberdeen. We loved having you stride with us again this year!

Together, our 21 walkers who took on the 18-mile Mighty Stride and the Wee Wander, you’ve helped raised vital funds to support our work in the community – what an achievement! 🏅

We’re so grateful to everyone who walked, donated and cheered us on!

At the start of the month, our amazing staff and volunteers came together for our annual Summer Training 💪

The team took part in a packed day, covering:
⚽ Leading games for large numbers of participants
🧭 Roles and responsibilities scenarios
💬 Identifying and responding to concerns for young people
🧠 Trauma-informed practice

It was a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, strengthen skills, and make sure we’re ready to provide the best possible support and experiences for young people🙌

🧠 Mental Health Awareness Week 2026

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week in May, we were delighted to partner with the at HMP & YOI Grampian to deliver two outdoor activity sessions for families.
It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying time together in the fresh air — with a variety of activities on offer from relaxing yoga to fun races, giant bubbles and getting creative with homemade stress balls.

Creating opportunities for families to connect, have fun, and support their wellbeing is a key focus of our Club 10 programme ❤
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the events so positive and memorable!
