We believe in football as a game where everyone has a place on the field! 🌍💛

Through our programme we are creating safe and inclusive spaces where young leaders themselves promote gender equity and break down the barriers that many rural children and young people face in accessing education, sport, and spaces for personal and community development 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽⚽

In 2025, our football programmes reached more than 1,000 children and young people across rural communities in Santa Bárbara, Honduras - and over 50% were girls and young women! 🇭🇳🌱

As part of UniDeportes we run:
1️⃣ Weekly sports leadership sessions that use football to develop confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills among rural youth.
2️⃣ Monthly youth-led community sports days in rural villages, bringing girls and boys together for games that foster soft skills and social connection.
3️⃣ Weekly training sessions for six mixed-gender community football teams for children and youth aged 6–18.
4️⃣ And a rural inter-school football tournament that celebrates the power of football for social change!

Behind every book opened in our library and every project born in our Youth Center, there is a brave young person determined to excel. We deeply admire their resilience, their energy, and the abilities they have to transform the world through their knowledge.

🎨 Arts at educate.: fostering creativity and expression.

Every Saturday, our programmes in 📸 Communication, 💻 Technology, ⚽️ Sports, and 🎨 Art take place, each creating a unique space for learning and skills development.

Today we want to highlight our Art programme, a creative and dynamic space where this week participants worked on the technique of blending warm and cool colors. Through this activity, they created paintings using color combinations that convey feelings of joy and warmth, as well as calm and tranquility. Each piece reflects their ideas, feelings, and the importance of color as a tool for artistic expression.

🎨 Arte en educate.: creatividad, expresión y aprendizaje 💙

Cada sábado se desarrollan los programas de 📸 Comunicación, 💻 Tecnología, ⚽️ Deporte y 🎨 Arte, brindando a niñas, niños y jóvenes espacios de aprendizaje, recreación y desarrollo de habilidades.

En esta ocasión queremos destacar el programa de Arte, un espacio creativo y dinámico donde esta semana las y los participantes trabajaron la técnica de difuminado de colores cálidos y fríos. A través de esta actividad, elaboraron cuadros utilizando combinaciones de colores que transmiten sensaciones de alegría y calidez, así como calma y tranquilidad. Cada trabajo refleja sus ideas, sentimientos y la importancia del color como herramienta de expresión artística.

✨educate. presente en SHEmpower Disruptivas 2026 ✨

El pasado 23 de mayo tuvimos el honor de participar en SHEmpower Disruptivas, un evento organizado por Cipotes Honduras y realizado en las instalaciones de la Universidad de San Pedro Sula USAP, que reunió a mujeres líderes, jóvenes y organizaciones comprometidas con el liderazgo, la innovación y el empoderamiento 🙌🏼

Nuestra representación estuvo a cargo de Nicolle Paz, Coordinadora de Programas y Proyectos, junto a nuestras jóvenes becadas de colegio Ana Ester y Maryuri, quienes vivieron una experiencia enriquecedora de aprendizaje, inspiración y conexión con participantes de diversos sectores.

Para ellas, esta fue una experiencia muy significativa que les permitió ampliar sus conocimientos, fortalecer su visión de liderazgo y motivarse a seguir generando un impacto positivo en sus comunidades 🎓

On May 23, we had the honor of participating in SHEmpower Disruptivas, an event organized by Cipotes Honduras and hosted at the University of San Pedro Sula, bringing together women leaders, young people, and organizations committed to leadership, innovation, and empowerment 🙌🏼

We were represented by Nicolle Paz, our Programmes and Projects Coordinator, along with our high school scholarship students Ana Ester and Maryuri, who enjoyed an enriching experience filled with learning, inspiration, and meaningful connections with participants from diverse sectors.

For them, this was a truly impactful experience that allowed them to expand their knowledge, strengthen their leadership vision, and feel motivated to continue creating positive change in their communities 🎓

Thank you Cipotes Honduras for the invitation and for creating spaces that foster the young people’s personal and professional growth!

Happy World Environment Day! 💚🌎

Today we celebrate the rural territories where we work and the communities and leaders that care for them.

In the village of Las Lagunas, children have been actively participating in a multi-year reforestation project around their community’s lakes. Together, they are helping restore native vegetation, protect local water sources, and protect habitats for local wildlife.

Environmental conservation is not only about planting trees, but also about teaching younger generations to become stewards of the natural resources that sustain their communities. Through long-term m engagement , these young environmental leaders are helping build a more sustainable future for their village.

By protecting our forests, lakes, and biodiversity today, we help ensure clean water and thriving ecosystems for generations to come 🌿

¡Feliz Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente! 🌎💚

Hoy celebramos los territorios rurales donde trabajamos y a las comunidades y líderes que los cuidan.

En la aldea de Las Lagunas, las y los niños y niñas han participado activamente en un proyecto de reforestación de varios años alrededor de los lagos de su comunidad. Juntos y juntas, están ayudando a restaurar la vegetación nativa, proteger las fuentes locales de agua y conservar los hábitats de la fauna silvestre.

La conservación ambiental no consiste únicamente en plantar árboles, sino también en enseñar a las nuevas generaciones a convertirse en guardianes de los recursos naturales que sostienen a sus comunidades. A través de un compromiso a largo plazo, estos niños, niñas y jóvenes líderes ambientales están contribuyendo a construir un futuro más sostenible para su comunidad.

Al proteger nuestros bosques, lagos y biodiversidad hoy, ayudamos a garantizar agua limpia y ecosistemas saludables para las generaciones futuras 🌿

✨ Support young people to become leaders and facilitators in their communities.
✨ Promote gender justice and challenge restrictive gender norms.
✨ Expand access to books and safe learning spaces through a growing network of rural community libraries.

15 laptops are on their way to Honduras thanks to an incredible partnership with Labdoo and Paquetería Katracha SL.! 💻🌍

Closing the digital divide in Honduras takes collaboration. For the past two years, we’ve been working alongside La Vida to build and expand our STEM programme, which has already graduated 163 children and young people through our Level 1 and Level 2 courses.

One of the biggest challenges we’ve faced has been access to computers, which makes this generous donation from Labdoo and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid especially meaningful.

We’re also deeply grateful to Paquetería Katracha SL. for joining the project as a key partner and making it possible to transport these laptops to Honduras.

Together, we’re creating more opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive through technology. 🚀

✨ Building spaces for learning, reflection, and equality ✨

On May 19th and 20th, we held a training workshop with young volunteers in Santa Cruz de Yojoa on Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Gender Justice, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to become community facilitators and replicate these workshops with other young people in their communities 💜

Through this training, these youth leaders are now prepared to share accurate, accessible information about bodies, rights, consent, relationships, and gender equality, helping empower more young people to make informed decisions, prevent unwanted pregnancies, and build healthier, more respectful relationships 🌱

During these two days, we shared experiences, knowledge, and engaging activities that encouraged reflection on the importance of breaking down the taboos that still exist around these topics – especially in rural areas.

We explored Comprehensive Sexuality Education from a broad perspective, understanding that it goes beyond the prevention of pregnancies or sexually transmitted infections, and also includes the emotional, social, and biological aspects that are part of each person’s holistic development.

Thank you to all the young volunteers for their enthusiasm, commitment, and willingness to become agents of change in their communities. Together, we are helping ensure that more young people have access to information that protects their health, their rights, and their futures ✨

✨ Construyendo espacios de aprendizaje, reflexión e igualdad ✨

Los días 19 y 20 de mayo realizamos un taller de formación con jóvenes voluntarios en Santa Cruz de Yojoa sobre Educación Sexual Integral y Justicia de Género, brindándoles los conocimientos y herramientas necesarias para convertirse en facilitadores comunitarios y replicar estos talleres con otros jóvenes en sus comunidades 💜

A través de esta formación, estos jóvenes líderes ahora están preparados para compartir información precisa y accesible sobre el cuerpo humano, los derechos, el consentimiento, las relaciones y la equidad de género, ayudando a que más jóvenes puedan tomar decisiones informadas, prevenir embarazos no deseados y construir relaciones más saludables y respetuosas 🌱

Durante estos dos días compartimos experiencias, conocimientos y actividades dinámicas que nos permitieron reflexionar sobre la importancia de romper los tabúes que aún existen alrededor de estos temas, especialmente en las zonas rurales.

Abordamos la Educación Integral en Sexualidad desde una perspectiva amplia, entendiendo que va más allá de la prevención de embarazos o infecciones de transmisión sexual, e incluye también los aspectos emocionales, sociales y biológicos que forman parte del desarrollo integral de cada persona.

Gracias a todas y todos las y los jóvenes voluntarios por su entusiasmo, compromiso y disposición para convertirse en agentes de cambio en sus comunidades. Juntos y juntas estamos contribuyendo a que más jóvenes tengan acceso a información que proteja su salud, sus derechos y su futuro ✨

✨ Una jornada llena de aprendizaje, crecimiento emocional, y momentos de convivencia 💙

Ayer, las y los jóvenes de educate. participaron en talleres impartidos por estudiante de Unitec Honduras enfocados en la salud mental, la gestión de emociones y el autocuidado 🧠🌱

Durante la actividad aprendieron sobre la importancia de reconocer y expresar sus emociones, así como técnicas para manejarlas de manera saludable y fortalecer su bienestar emocional.

Espacios como estos contribuyen al desarrollo integral de nuestros jóvenes, brindándoles herramientas valiosas para su vida personal y académica 💫

¡Muchísimas gracias a todos los y las estudiantes que nos visitaron! Las puertas de nuestro Centro Juvenil siempre están abiertas 💚

✨ A day full of learning and connection 💙

Yesterday, young people at educate. participated in workshops led by students from the Technological University of Central America Unitec Honduras, focused on mental health, emotional regulation, and self-care 🧠🌱

They learned about the importance of recognizing and expressing their emotions, as well as healthy techniques for managing them and strengthening their emotional well-being.

Spaces like these contribute to young people’s holistic development, providing valuable tools for both their personal and academic lives 💫
