It Starts at Home โค๏ธ
School is almost back, and I want to ask every parent a small favour.
Please sit with your child for five minutes and remind them that there is never a reason to make fun of someone because of their height, weight, skin colour, family situation, clothes, or the things they enjoy.
Teach them that there is nothing wrong with wearing the same shoes every day. ๐
Teach them that a used backpack can carry exactly the same dreams as a brand-new one. ๐
Teach them not to exclude someone simply because they are different.
Explain to them that teasing can leave wounds that people carry for years.
School is a place to learn, grow, make friends and build confidence โ not a place to compete over who has the newest clothes, the best phone, the biggest house or the most money.
And remind them that not every child goes home to a loving or happy family. Some children are already carrying battles that nobody else can see.
So teach them kindness. Teach them respect. Teach them empathy.
Because children learn from what they see and hear at home.
