We hope you've enjoyed getting to know some our Volunteers a little bit more over the week, and there's many more who are camera shy and work away in the background too!

As we come to an end of volunteers week, we'd like to add a final THANK YOU to the leaders and young leaders who planned, attended and help run this weekends Group Camp 🏕 What a phenomenonal amount of effort has been put in by the team who are truly a powerhouse 💪

We have loads of happy young people who have had an absolute blast and truly memorable experience ⚜️👍 our hearts are completely full seeing happy Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers who have adventures and stories to tell ❤️

✨️ Volunteers Week - Meet Our Team ✨️

Fiona 🙋‍♀️

Started 31 years ago as a Scout at 46th Fife and was a Venture at 62nd Fife. She became a Young Leader, Scout Leader, then a Beaver Leader with 33rd Fife. She went on to Beavers at Leuchars when her husband Keith was stationed there, and finally joined us at 1st Peterhead as a weekly Cub Leader and successfully restarted our thriving Beaver Cololny! 🦫 Fiona also helps with our Scout Troop most weeks currently and Explorer Unit when required.

She was also a member of Fellowship at Fordell and is now on Meggernie Service Team too 🏕

Siân has been attending weekly meetings and camps since she was a few months old, was a Beaver and Cub at 2nd Longside, a Guide in Peterhead and then joined 1st Peterhead Explorers 🏕

Kai is a more recent member of the Scouting community, having joined only two years ago as a 1st Peterhead Explorer ⚜️

Kristopher 🙋‍♂️

Has been Scouting for almost 30 years, starting as a Beaver and hasn't ever left! He has been a leader for 17 years in various groups in various roles - 2nd Longside, 55th Kincorth, Scottish Support Team, Member of the Scottish Board - and is now our Explorer leader at 1st Petethead where he guides the young people to plan and run their own programme, providing support and helps to facilitate where needed. He also has a top rope natural climbing permit so can facilitate climbing adventures both indoors and in the great outdoors for young people! 🧗‍♂️

Joined our Cub Team just over a year ago and has got stuck into weekly meetings, trips out and camping 🏕 She also helps with our Scout rota and picks up on admin work to keep things ticking over in the background too!

Phil 🙋‍♂️

Joined our Cub Team just over a year ago and has got stuck into helping on a weekly basis along with trips and residential experiences, has been roped into help with Explorer camping trips for transport (and clearly loves it by his photo seen attached! 🦷🧚‍♂️) and now helps on a rota with our Scouts too!

Volunteers Week 🙋‍♀️ 🙋‍♂️

Did you know that our Scout Group supports around 80 young people every week to have a place to belong, make new friends, learn new skills, have fun, try new things and experience adventure?! 🦫🐺⛺️🏞🧭🔥🤝

We couldn't do it without our dedicated bunch of volunteers who run the sections week to week and help out in the background with equipment, finances, fundraising etc. They all play a huge part - thank you! 👏

Our Volunteers get a huge amount out of Scouting, and we look forward to sharing their stories with you over this week 😊
