Cove Thistle AFC & Cove Youth Football Club ANNIVERSARY DINNER
Calling all former Officials, Coaches, former players and past volunteers of Cove Youth Football Club. Would you be interested in attending and supporting our 25th Anniversary Dinner? Yes, 25 years (now actually 27), can you believe it!!!
It was with great pleasure and excitement that Cove Youth FC recently announced that they were joining forces with Cove Thistle AFC to celebrate their joint anniversaries on Saturday 26th March 2022 with a gala dinner at P&J Live. Cove Thistle will be celebrating an amazing 70 years in Amateur Football and Cove Youth celebrated their 25th Anniversary in Youth Football in 2020. Sadly Cove Youth were unable to host their Anniversary dinner in 2022 due to Covid. Both clubs have now decided to join forces and work together to celebrate both occasions on the same evening. Both local clubs have worked together in the community for many years so it makes sense that we work together to celebrate these important milestones in our history.
COVE YOUTH FC (CYFC)
CYFC was formed in September 1995 with 1 coach and 14 seven year old players. Today CYFC boasts over 280 players, 18 teams and over 70 volunteers running the club and the affiliated teams. Thousands of kids have enjoyed playing for Cove Boys Club and now Cove Youth over this amazing 27 year period.
Football participation for all forms a large part of the CYFC ethos but coupled with that is the desire to help yong footballers enjoy the game and reach their full potential in the football and in life in general.
During the last 25 years CYFC have enjoyed major success in the local youth leagues by winning multiple league championships, local cup competitions and regularly reaching the latter stages of the Scottish Youth Cup. More notably CYFC have had great success in developing young talented footballers into the Aberdeen FC and other Scottish Football League Academies culminating in Scottish International caps for Ryan Fraser, Andrew Shinnie and Graeme Shinnie (all Cove loons). Also, we cannot forget the most recent star recruit at AFC, Calvin Ramsay who has made an amazing breakthrough this season and he started his football career at CYFC as a young lad.
Twenty Five years is a very significant milestone for CYFC and we would be delighted to host anyone who may be interested in supporting our joint Anniversary Dinner with Cove Thistle AFC.
CYFC would be delighted and honoured if anyone from our past wished to join us at our Anniversary Dinner. It would be great to see and welcome old faces and it would be great to catch up on the 'old times'!!!
