🥹🪩CLASS OF 2025 GRAD BALL🪩🥹

It’s the announcement all of our third years have been waiting for… the 2025 graduation ball will be taking place at 6pm on the 20th of September 2025 at Union Kirk🎉

We are sooo excited to be announcing this because so much planning has been happening behind the scenes already to make sure the third years have the best celebration possible🫶🏻

Tickets go on sale on April 1st 2025 and will cost £65 (with a discounted rate of £60 if you are a midwifery society member). This includes a lovely 2 course meal, an arrival drink of your choice, an in house DJ and photographer and a midwife name badge🥰

Tickets will be sold via a link that we will send to our third years via email on the day of ticket release. We’ll be handing tickets out when we’re on campus for skills following the closure of ticket sales but the dates for this are TBC.

Plus ones are more than welcome to join in on the celebrations so feel free to bring a loved one along💕

We are already counting down the days so we hope you’re all as excited as we are❤️

🎀SPONSORED WALK🎀

The Midwifery Society are delighted to announce that we will be running a sponsored walk on March 15th to help raise funds for the 3rd Year Grad Ball in September!🎉🪩

We will be walking the Old Deeside Railway Line in Aberdeen and because there are 9 months of pregnancy, we will be walking 9 miles of the path from Aberdeen to Drumoak🚶‍♀️

Just now we have participation from the committee but we would love to have some of our lovely members get involved too. We’re looking for around 20 participants (including us) to get involved so if you’re interested, pop a message in the MidSoc teams chat to let us know🥰

We will be setting up a fundraising page in the next week or so that we would really appreciate you sharing with family and friends if possible🫶🏻

Snacks and morale will be provided on the day to keep us all going on our venture🤣 hopefully you are all as excited about this as we are!

MidSoc x

(PS: we won’t be releasing any details about the ball as of yet but keep your eyes peeled for an announcement coming soon 👀)

❗️UPDATE ALL SPACES NOW TAKEN❗️

Hi everyone! 🤍

We are very excited to announce that we have secured a face to face training day with midwife and certified practitioner, Wendy Proctor.

There is lots of recent evidence to support the use of peanut balls during labour, so this will be a fabulous, informative and hands-on experience for all of us to take into practice.

The training will be held in RGU on Wednesday the 29th of January.

✨ We have 18 spaces at a discounted rate of £57.75 per person, including booking fee ✨

If you are interested in a space, please comment below or send us a direct message. We are happy for payments to be made on SAAS day.

Apologies to the first years who will be on placement during this event - we promise you will get the chance to be involved in something else very soon!

🎀BAKE SALE🎀

The society will be running a bake sale during the stronger together event on campus!🧁

Our stall will be placed by the Sir Ian Wood auditorium and we will be there for the length of the event between 1pm and 4pm🥰

All baked goods have been kindly made by members of the society so come see us and see if our baking skills are up to scratch😋

We’ll be asking for donations at the stall, and all proceeds will be fed back into the society so we can keep running our lovely events through the rest of the year💕

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow🫶🏻

Our president Anna will be presenting during the event which is free to ALL student Midwives! 🤍

This time 2 weeks ago we were getting ready for our yoga and relaxation session with the wonderful Claire Burns🧘‍♀️🤩

We had a fab turnout and it was so good to get together to unwind a bit with the approaching deadlines and stress that comes with the end of a semester 📅

As well as working through some yoga, we managed to raise £110 to be donated to Women’s Aid🫶🏻

Thank you to all our lovely members who showed up to support a fantastic cause 🥰
