BreakthroughT1D Scotland

BreakthroughT1D Scotland Breakthrough T1D, formerly known as JDRF, is the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy charity.

We help make everyday life with T1D better while driving toward cures. Globally, JDRF has invested £1billion in funding critical research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes and its complications. For more than four decades we have been at the forefront of developments, finding new ways to treat type 1, and progressing towards being able to halt, reverse and prevent it. By seeking out, asse

ssing and monitoring the best research in the world, no matter where it is, we drive the breakthroughs that improve treatment and that will ultimately cure type 1 diabetes. Because we have people with type 1 diabetes at the heart of our organisation, we know that living with type 1 makes life just that bit tougher, and we think that people with type 1 don’t get a fair deal. That’s why, as well as funding research, we also give a voice to people with type 1. We campaign for greater research funding and for access to the treatments and technologies to make your life easier today. We also work to differentiate type 1 from type 2 diabetes and provide information for all stages of living with type 1 – from diagnosis and beyond.

We were privileged that Breakthrough T1D was the chosen charity for this year's Aberdeen Lieutenancy Christmas Carol Service.

The theme this year was 'love in the heart of the community', with a service led by the Rev. Sarah Brown. The cathedral was filled with the singing of the wonderful Cathedral Choir, raising £1200 for Breakthrough T1D from the retiring offering as part of the service. We are so grateful for your support! 💙

We're sending a huge thank you to the Ladies Committee at the Turriff Show!

The committee held a Ladies Day in the summer, raising a fabulous £14,170 for Breakthrough T1D and to top it off, were able to donate their total to the Big Give Christmas Appeal to double their gift! Thank you so much to everyone involved. 💙
