Archie at Aberdeen Neonatal Unit We are the official charity of the Neonatal Unit at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, supporting babies born too sick or too soon.

All of the money that is donated and fundraised for Archie at The Neonatal unit goes back into the Unit. We have helped provide enhanced medical equipment, pediatric training & research, and family support for the parents and carers whose babies are in the unit.

World Prematurity Day: Neonatal Family Support Afternoon 💜

We are inviting all families, past and present, to join us for a special afternoon hosted by the Archie Neonatal Committee in recognition of World Prematurity Day. Whether your journey was recent or many years ago, we would love to see you!

🔹 MacGillivray Room, Aberdeen Maternity Hospital

With exciting guests joining us, this is a lovely opportunity to reconnect with families you met during your time in the unit, share experiences and help shape the support available to future families receiving neonatal care.

Why I took part in Prematuri-tea: Clar's story 💜

From those first weeks in neonatal care to seeing Isabella grow today, every family's journey is unique. For one of our wonderful supporters, Clar, organising a Prematuri-tea was a way to give something back to the people who supported her family along the way.

Reflecting on her experience, she shared:

“Organising the Prematuri-tea in the office last year was so heart-warming. We had so many people who were willing to donate cakes for the sale, donate their time to help on the day with setting up and chat to folks about their own experience.

The Prematuri-tea was my way of saying thanks to the Neonatal team and the Archie Foundation for all their help and support while Isabella was in neonatal for 4 weeks. Everyone was so reassuring and nothing was ever too much. We cannot thank the nurses in neonatal enough”

Stories like Isabella's remind us why supporting neonatal families matters, and how a simple cup of tea and slice of cake can make a difference 💜

A huge thank you to the Fraserburgh community for getting behind Archie and supporting us at our very first Shire Ball.

It was an incredible night from start to finish, with Lights Entertainment keeping us entertained as our compere, Links Restaurant providing lovely catering, The Franchise - Wedding & Function Band delivering incredible entertainment, and the amazing decor from Melz Mosaics making the space look spectacular✨

A huge well done to Charlotte, who celebrated her 11th birthday by taking on a special 5K challenge to raise money for The Archie Foundation🎂

With dreams of one day becoming an Olympic athlete, this was a brilliant milestone for Charlotte, and she absolutely smashed it.

After spending time in HDU at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital last year, Charlotte experienced first-hand how Archie’s support can make a difference to children and families. From games, books and activities tailored to her interests, to continued support during outpatient appointments, Archie helped bring some brighter moments to a difficult time💙

Charlotte did amazingly well in her 5K run and raised an incredible £3,597, which will help many more children and families going through similar experiences.

A huge thank you to Charlotte, her wonderful family and everyone who supported her fundraising. What an incredible way to transform a challenging memory into something positive!🎉

Invite your family for cake, have a coffee morning at work, or simply ask a few friends to join you.

A small fundraiser can make a huge difference to families facing the experience of neonatal care with their baby. In Scotland, around one in ten babies will need some specialist care after they are born.

BP Coast 2 Coast 17 – what an incredible challenge! 🚴‍♀️

This year marked the 4th BP Coast 2 Coast in partnership with The Archie Foundation, and once again, it was a huge success!

A fantastic team of cyclists took on the incredible challenge of cycling from Ullapool to Aberdeen via Inverness over three days. While it was a huge personal challenge for everyone involved, it was also an incredibly important fundraiser for The Archie Foundation.

Together, the team raised an amazing £38,000 for Archie! 💙

And the best part? The funds raised will go where they are needed most to support children and families facing healthcare challenges across the north of Scotland.

From helping families with travel and meals while their child is in hospital, to funding specialist equipment, wheelchairs, nursery places, toys and resources, the support helps fill the gaps beyond what the NHS is able to provide.

The list of things families need can be long, and the difference this kind of support makes is huge.

We are incredibly proud and grateful to everyone who took part, fundraised, supported the event and made BP Coast 2 Coast 17 such a success. Thank you for choosing to support Archie!💙
