It’s Day 1 of 2026!

This week, we celebrate the incredible volunteers who bring friendship, hope and connection to people across Aberdeen.

Through simple acts of kindness, volunteers help ensure that nobody has to face loneliness alone.

To our small but dedicated volunteers here at Aberdeen Action on Disability, your time, compassion and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of others every single day.

As part of Volunteers’ Week 2026 coming up at the start of June 2026, we’d love to invite you to come along to our next Aberdeen Befriending Network Gathering.

This will be a relaxed space to connect with others across the network, share what’s happening in your services, and continue building relationships across Aberdeen as we work together to reduce loneliness and isolation. Primarily, It’s also a chance to celebrate the incredible contribution of volunteers across the city—so the more volunteers who can come along, the better.

We’ll also have a buffet lunch available, so please do come along hungry!

Please Note-
The AAD offices will be closed over the Easter weekend as we will be busy seeing just how many hot cross buns it's possible to eat.

The office is closed Fri 3rd April and Monday 6th April so there will be no social group session next week (Mon 6th April).

We re-open the office on Tuesday 7th April as normal and next social group will be Monday 13th April.

Aberdeen residents now have the chance to tell the council what they think of taxi levels in the city - and to potentially change rules on drivers entering the trade. We encourage everyone to have their say, especially the disabled community who are more reliant on such services and the potential impact of the changes to services and available accessible vehicles in the city.
The scheduled review of the taxi and private hire licensing policy is now active. The consultation questions can be accessed by way of the undernoted link:

https://taxi-private-hire.commonplace.is/

The consultation is open until 24 April 2026

Have your say today - our consultation is open until 24 April 2026 Please do not include any sensitive personal data within your response.

Two Weeks In: Have you had your say? Help Finalise our Plans by sharing your view by 20 March 2026

Last year, people across Aberdeen told us what matters to them. Now we’ve created draft new plans to improve life in Aberdeen, city wide, in your neighbourhood, and for children and families. Click on the images below to access the draft Plans and see our Your Said, We Propose to see how what people said is important aligns to the proposals.

How to take part
Our public consultation is open until 20 March 2026. Take part today by using this link:

We are now consulting on our draft Local Outcome Improvement Plan 2026-36, our North, South and Central Locality Plans 2026-36 and Children's Services Plan 2026-31. Survey closes on 20 March 2026.
