Jeff Diack has been elected as the new councillor for the Midstocket and Rosemount ward in yesterday's by-election. He will represent residents in the Ashgrove part of our community council area.

By-election voters turned out across the Midstocket and Rosemount ward on Thursday to select the candidate they wanted to represent them in the council chambers.

Thank you to the volunteers who came to our litter pick in Stockethill on Saturday as part of Climate Week North East. Despite only a few coming along, we collected a lot of litter during our short pick!

Ashgrove & Stockethill Community Council has 2 mobile boxes of picking equipment, with pickers and safety equipment for both adults and children. If you, your neighbours, a local business or local community group (church/guides/scouts/youth group etc) would like to borrow the equipment to arrange a litter pick in the Ashgrove, Hilton, Cattofield, Rosehill, Cornhill or Stockethill areas, just get in touch! Residents across Aberdeen can apply for a free one-tonne community salt bag from today (Monday 14 September 2026) to treat icy roads and pavements in their neighbourhood during the winter months.
People are advised to apply as soon as possible as it is the same team which fills and delivers the one-tonne community salt bags as which carries out gritting operations.
The deadline for applying for the one-tonne community salt bags is Sunday 25 October 2026 after which applications will not be processed due to the additional demand this places on the service at this busy time of year.
The scheme is designed to help communities help themselves when winter starts and in addition, there will again be big community salt bins in strategic locations around the city.

Thank you to everyone who came to our leg of the 24-hour clean-up in Ashgrove!

Groups, schools, businesses, and organisations took part in this year's event which involves litter picks starting every hour over 24 hours from midnight to midnight.

There will be a Prohibition of waiting on either side of Clifton Road, Aberdeen from its junction with Anderson Road to the western boundary of 450 Clifton Road, and from its junction with Anderson Road to the eastern boundary of 421 Clifton Road, from 09:00 on the 7th of July 2026 to 06:00 on the 9th of July 2026.

There will be a further prohibition on Anderson Road from its junction with Clifton Road to a point 25 meters or thereby northbound. This measure is necessary to protect the workforce and public during ironwork renewals carried out by Idverde on behalf of Scottish Water.
