KINCORTH YOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB – OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Incident at The Bobby Douglas Park, Kincorth, Aberdeen
Tuesday 22 September 2026 – approximately 7:00pm
Kincorth Youth Football Club is extremely concerned following a serious incident at The Bobby Douglas Park yesterday evening.
Our Child Wellbeing and Protection Officers (CWPOs) were made aware of an incident which took place while several of our youth teams were actively training and playing matches on the marked football pitches.
During these sessions, a motorcycle carrying a rider and pillion passenger was ridden at speed directly through areas of the park occupied by young children, coaches and families.
Players from several of our younger age groups, including children from our 2020, 2018 and 2017 teams, were on the pitches at the time.
The manner in which the motorcycle was ridden was completely unacceptable and created an extremely dangerous situation. There were a number of very concerning near misses involving young children, and the consequences could have been devastating.
The video footage attached to this statement demonstrates just how serious this incident was.
Unfortunately, incidents involving motorcycles and other antisocial behaviour at The Bobby Douglas Park are becoming far too frequent. As a youth football club, we find it incredibly difficult to understand why we continue to face behaviour which places children, volunteers and members of our community at risk.
Our coaches and volunteers work hard to make The Bobby Douglas Park a safe, positive and welcoming environment where children can develop, enjoy football and spend time with their friends and teammates.
No child should be frightened while attending football training. No coach should have to stop a session because somebody has chosen to ride a motorcycle through a pitch full of children. Most importantly, no family should have to worry about whether their child is safe simply because they have come along to play football.
This behaviour cannot continue.
The footage from yesterday’s incident has been passed to Police Scotland, along with information which may assist with their enquiries.
We would encourage anyone who witnessed the incident, has additional footage, or has information which may assist to contact us directly or speak with a member of our coaching team.
We would also ask that people do not publicly name or speculate about individuals while enquiries are ongoing.
Please share this statement to help raise awareness of the very real issues being faced at The Bobby Douglas Park.
We simply want our children to be able to play football, develop, make memories and enjoy their community facilities without being put in danger.
