Rosalind had a positive meeting at the stairs recently with Kirsty Blackman MP who has been supportive of our hopes to have the stairs renovated and re-opened from the start. Colin McFadyen, Chair of TCDT, and Phil Hall and Kamina Pavlenic from Aberdeen City Council were there too.

See below a link to a consultation that the Council have put out regarding the potential repair and reopening of the stairs.

We would be grateful if you could take a couple of moments to complete it and send it in.

Despite the quoted high cost of development, please be aware that we would not wish to access funds that would lead to reduced local resources or amenities. We hope to access funds from Lottery and Heritage funding.

We are set to apply for funds again from various places and would be really grateful if you could support this by telling us why you think it’s important to have the stairs reopened again please. 😉❤️

We heard a couple of days ago that unfortunately we have been unsuccessful in gaining funding after our application to Nestrans 2025/26 People and Place Programme, with the help of Tillydrone Community Development Trust.

Needless to say, we will continue to apply for funding wherever we can.

We have now started a sub group which will meet regularly to help focus us on creating new ideas for funding and keeping things fresh. This group will report back to the Tillydrone Community Development Trust who we have recently amalgamated with and can help us with potential access to new funding streams due to their being a recognised charity.
