🏡 An Evening of Connection, Conversation, and Community

Last month, North East Black Ethnic Minorities (NEBEM) hosted their “Home Away from Home” event, bringing together community members, local organisations, and friends from across the region.

It was a night dedicated to building connections, sharing experiences, and celebrating the vibrancy of our diverse community. The energy in the room was inspiring, with meaningful conversations, laughter, and new friendships being formed.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event such a memorable and inclusive celebration. Your participation strengthens our community and reinforces the importance of coming together, supporting one another, and creating spaces where everyone feels at home.

Here are a few highlights from the evening 📸 — truly a night to remember!

Over the past few months, the North East Black Ethnic Minorities SCIO - NEBEM UK team has been on a heartfelt mission—providing nutritious meals to support those in our community who need it most. Today, on Christmas Eve, we had the privilege of serving over 80 people. The smiles on their faces said more than words ever could—a powerful reminder of the joy that comes from giving.

For many, the holiday season brings warmth and abundance, but for others, it can be a time of struggle. Knowing that some will go to bed tonight with full stomachs and lighter hearts is the greatest gift we could hope for this Christmas.

This incredible journey was made possible by the generous support of the Arnold Clark Community Fund. A huge thank you to our NEBEM team, led by Godson Jackson and supported by Gideon Okoli

As we reflect on a year of challenges and triumphs, we wish to extend our gratitude to our funders and everyone we’ve had the honour of supporting this year. Here’s to a festive season filled with kindness, hope, and togetherness.

🍴✨ Serving with Love and Purpose ✨🍴

Today, trustee members of NEBEM, led by Anthony Anyika, extended a helping hand by providing meals at Jesus House Aberdeen on Holburn Street. This act of kindness is part of our ongoing initiative to support our community and uplift those around us.

At North East Black Ethnic Minorities SCIO - NEBEM UK, we believe that small acts of generosity can create ripples of hope and positivity. Together, we’re making a difference, one meal at a time.
