Deaf Awareness Week 2026 🦻

We're proud to be recognising Deaf Awareness Week 2026 running from May 4th - May 10th. An annual event that raises awareness of deafness and celebrates British Deaf culture, community and history.

In the UK alone, around half of deaf children are born deaf. With the other half born hearing and becoming deaf as they get older.

Did you know Dee is moderately deaf in one ear? Wearing a BTE hearing aid to help her on all of her adventures!

Dee is a fun and visible reminder that sport is limitless and that there is truly something for everyone at Sport Aberdeen.

For more information on Deaf Awareness Week and how you can raise awareness, follow the link below 👇
