Some wise words from our colleagues at Uttoxeter Fire Station

Abbots Bromley Fire Station are desperate to be able to more regularly crew their appliance which is often sat there unable to respond.

As a quick litmus test, the past couple of incidents we have attended that required attendance from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue have seen crews from Uttoxeter, Stafford and even Longton attend. Sadly, not Abbot’s Bromley.

Please have a think about whether you can give some time back to your community (and even get paid..!)

This Mental Health Awareness Week, let’s take a moment to remember that mental health matters every single day.

Life can feel busy, demanding, and sometimes overwhelming. We do not always see what someone else is carrying, and we do not always feel able to speak about our own struggles. A simple check in, a kind message, or a few minutes of listening can make more difference than we realise.

Looking after our mental wellbeing is not selfish. It is essential. Rest is important. Boundaries are healthy. Asking for support is a strength, not a weakness. Whether it is talking to a friend, reaching out to a professional, taking a walk outside, or simply allowing yourself to pause, small steps count.

If you are finding things difficult, you are not alone. Support is available, and it is okay to reach for it. If you are doing well, consider how you can help create a space where others feel safe to speak openly and without judgement.

Let’s keep the conversation going beyond this week. Kindness, understanding, and compassion can change lives.

We are excited to share that Abbots Bromley Community First Responders have decided to introduce a recognisable logo for our group moving forward.

Our aim is for this logo to help us stand out more clearly within the community and to create a consistent identity that can be used across publications, promotional materials, and other communications.

A huge thank you to Simon for putting together the initial ideas and developing the design that we are now sharing. We really appreciate the time, effort, and creativity that has gone into this.

We hope this will become a symbol that people associate with our work and the service we provide to the community.

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. We’re shouting loudly that great mental health care isn't just clinical, it's human. It’s the kind voice at the end of the phone when you’re worried about rent and too unwell to work. It’s the adviser who listens actively, rather than waiting for their turn to speak. And it's you reminding friends and loved ones that these contact details can save lives. Please share 💙
