As a charity, we rely entirely on the generosity of our amazing local community, and we are incredibly grateful for every donation and every person who chooses to support us.

We are absolutely delighted that Marsh Farm Tea Rooms & Bed & Breakfast have chosen to support Abbots Bromley Community First Responders and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity this year.

For us as Abbots Bromley Community First Responders, donations like these make a real and lasting difference. They help us to operate effectively and, most importantly, allow us to continue being there for members of our community when they need us most.

Our volunteers are often among the first to arrive when an emergency call is received, providing vital initial care while we await the arrival of the ambulance crew/paramedics. These donations help us keep our response vehicle on the road, ensure our defibrillators and other medical equipment are regularly serviced and maintained, and allow us to replace essential items such as defibrillator pads and other consumables after they have been used.

They also help us maintain and replace other vital equipment, including blood pressure monitors and other clinical equipment, ensuring that our responders have reliable and appropriate equipment available when they are called upon. Donations also contribute towards uniforms and clothing for our volunteers, community training, vehicle running costs and the many other expenses involved in keeping our response service operational.

Although we are entirely volunteer-led, there are significant costs involved in ensuring that we are ready to respond, day or night. Every donation helps us to remain prepared and equipped to provide that important first response when seconds really can matter.

We are also incredibly grateful that Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is being supported alongside us. We have had the privilege of working closely with their crews on many occasions, and we know first-hand what an incredible service they provide.

Donations to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity help keep their helicopters in the air and ensure that highly skilled advanced clinicians, including critical care paramedics and doctors, can be brought directly to patients when they are facing the most serious and life-threatening medical emergencies. This means that advanced treatment can begin at the scene, often before a patient even reaches hospital, and we think that is truly amazing.

Both organisations play very different but incredibly important roles in the chain of emergency care, and we are so proud to be supported alongside Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

We would also love to encourage our community to show some support to Marsh Farm Tea Rooms & Bed and Breakfast in return. Their menu looks absolutely delicious, and from what we have seen, it looks like a really lovely place to visit, relax and enjoy some good food. So, if you are looking for somewhere lovely for a coffee, lunch, afternoon tea or a little treat, why not pop along and give them a try?

Supporting the businesses that support our local community is so important, and we would love to see the community getting behind them too. ❤️

A huge congratulations to our lovely team member Jemma on the arrival of her beautiful baby girl, Nancy, earlier this week! We’re delighted to hear that both mother and baby are doing well.

Nancy has already completed her first CFR tasking: Cuddles, Feeds and Rest .. though we're unclear in which order.. 👶

Wishing Jemma and her family every happiness as they enjoy this very special time.

Great work by our friends at Abbots Bromley Fire Station. Just as with us, they could do more if more people stepped up to help their local community.

***Fire Call*** 17:50hrs 09/07/26 Crew mobilised to report of field fire Hobb Lane, Marchington Woodlands. Prior to arrival additional information and amount of visible smoke prompted us to request three additional fire engines and a water carrier. Upon arrival we found an area of approximately 150m x 100m of freshly cut corn and stubble well alight with the fire being driven towards an adjoining field by the wind. Great joint working between our crews and the local farming community enabled us to get a fire break created and to pre-wet the perimeter before extinguishing the main area of fire. Our crew revisited site at 21:30hrs to check for any remaining hotspots prior to closing the incident. We need more people to join our crew here in Abbots Bromley so we can respond to incidents such as this - local people supporting their local community in a time of need. 💙 Celebrating 78 Years of the NHS 💙

Today we proudly celebrate the 78th Birthday of the National Health Service, an institution that has been at the heart of our communities since 5 July 1948.

Founded on the simple but powerful principle that good healthcare should be available to everyone, regardless of their wealth, the NHS was established by Aneurin Bevan in the aftermath of the Second World War. It became the world’s first national health service to provide comprehensive healthcare that was free at the point of use, changing millions of lives and becoming one of Britain’s most treasured institutions.

Over the past 78 years, the NHS has cared for generations of families through life’s happiest moments and its greatest challenges. From welcoming new life into the world to providing emergency care, life-saving treatments, groundbreaking medical advances and compassionate support, the dedication of NHS staff has never wavered.

At Abbots Bromley Community First Responders, we are incredibly proud to work alongside our NHS colleagues. Every day we see first-hand the professionalism, compassion and commitment shown by ambulance crews, doctors, nurses, paramedics, healthcare assistants, support staff, volunteers and everyone who helps keep our health service running.

As Community First Responders, we are honoured to play our part by providing immediate care in our local community while NHS ambulance crews are on their way, helping improve outcomes when every second counts.

On this special anniversary, we’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has served the NHS, past and present. Your dedication, kindness and resilience continue to inspire us all.

Well, that’s a wrap on the Midlands Air Ambulance Open Day at Tatenhill Airfield!

Despite the scorching temperatures, we had a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many people from the local community and beyond.

A huge thank you to everyone who had a go on our tombola, and to all those who generously donated prizes or helped us to prepare for today. Your support is greatly appreciated.

We also had plenty of games for the children to enjoy, along with uniforms they could try on for photos. Judging by the enthusiasm we saw, I’m sure there were a few future Community First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Paramedics in the making… perhaps even some future Helicopter Doctors and Critical Care Paramedics too!

One thing that really stood out to me was how many children already had an awareness of CPR and knew the basics. It was both refreshing and inspiring to see.

However, there is one question I always ask: “Do they know your home address?”

Many children know that in an emergency they should call 999 and ask for help, but surprisingly few know their full address or where to find it if needed, such as on a letter or other household document.

Food for thought for parents and carers: does your child know where they live?

Finally, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity for inviting us to be part of such a wonderful event. We loved every minute of it and hope to be back again in the future!
