We invite you to join in with the idea of building, launching and sailing an exact replica of the most famous, most beautiful and, arguably the most perfect sailing ship in world’s history - the clipper ship Cutty Sark. The original ship still exists; she is open to the
public as a museum in Greenwich. With the most careful restoration made, she gives us all the information needed to build a true, historically accurate replica: a genuine tea-clipper, which will, once again, sail around the world. The Cutty Sark 2 will set new standards in tall ship sailing and environmentally sound transportation methods. She perfectly combines the wish to bring back a time long passed, to preserve an important part of our history, make it tangible and possible to experience with all your senses. And the need to protect and preserve our pristine and vulnerable maritime environment. All stages of the project will be fascinating and educational for the public in general. Upon finishing the construction, Cutty Sark 2 will sail the world’s oceans as a sail training vessel, and as a sailing cargo ship. Whilst in port, she will be open for visitors as a living embodiment and memorial to the great Era of speed under sail.
