😰 Un éléphant entre au milieu d'un village...
Avec la perte de leur habitat, les éléphants se retrouvent à errer au milieu des habitations.
De quoi provoquer la peur des villageois.
Problème : sans entraînement et outils adaptés, les habitants ne savent repousser efficacement les éléphants.
Ainsi, la plupart du temps, les villageois hurlent, crient et courent dans tous les sens autour de l'élephant.
De quoi faire paniquer l'animal, complètement perdu et ne comprenant pas où aller.
L'élephant a alors 2 réactions possibles : soit il fuit en courant dans tous les sens, provoquant encore plus de dégâts sur les récoltes ; soit il attaque et charge les habitants.
Notre ONG tente d'aider les communautés locales par des entraînements professionnels et le déploiement d'outils adaptés à la gestion des conflits.
En seulement 2 mois de travail, les conflits ont déjà commencé à diminuer dans nos zones d'action.

😰 An elephant wanders into the middle of a village...
With the loss of their habitat, elephants are finding themselves wandering among the houses.
This is causing fear among the villagers.
The problem is: without training and the right tools, the villagers don't know how to effectively repel the elephants.
So, most of the time, the villagers yell, shout, and run around frantically around the elephant.
This panics the animal, which is completely disoriented and doesn't know where to go.
The elephant then has two possible reactions: either it flees, causing even more damage to the crops; or it attacks and charges the villagers.
Our NGO is trying to help local communities through professional training and the deployment of tools adapted to conflict management.
In just two months of work, conflicts have already begun to decrease in the areas where we operate.
