Riki Danni is a 22-year-old saxophonist and composer from the modest city of Tangerang. With a bold artistic vision and a deep-rooted passion for jazz, his music flourishes from the modern jazz currents of Indonesia. A contemporary voice within the evolving jazz tradition.

More than a personal outlet, Riki sees his music as a way to contribute to a broader, growing dialogue around jazz in Southeast Asia. Driven by a desire to connect with a younger generation of listeners, Riki reimagines jazz as a space for emotional honesty, reflection, and self-discovery. His compositions move with intention, balancing form and freedom, quiet introspection and bold intensity. Each piece invites listeners into a deeply personal sound world, one that encourages stillness, evokes feeling, and offers moments of resonance in an otherwise restless pace of life.

WATCHDOG may not exactly fit your idea of a jazz band, an instrumental rock group, or a contemporary
music duo, and that’s a good thing.

WATCHDOG takes a keen interest in the music that inspires them, without any concern for fitting into a
specific genre. Their approach is that of musical omnivores who have crafted their own world in a seemingly effortless way.

The duo features Anne Quillier on a wide range of keyboards and Pierre Horckmans on clarinets. Their
music is original, blending composition and improvisation, with a strong attention to detail in textures and soundscapes, and a broad range of influences, not always immediately recognizable.

In jazz, the most compelling drummers are often those who understand that rhythm is more than timekeeping—it is dialogue. Cheryl Felicia Kalianto belongs to a new generation of Indonesian musicians embracing that philosophy, developing a voice that values interaction, texture, and musical sensitivity above sheer technical display.

While many young drummers establish themselves through speed and virtuosity, Kalianto has cultivated an approach rooted in attentive listening. Her playing reveals an instinct for shaping the music from within, responding naturally to melodic and harmonic movement while creating grooves that breathe with the ensemble. Every phrase reflects an awareness that the drum set can support, challenge, and inspire in equal measure.

A formative chapter in her artistic journey came through her participation in the 2024 Bromo Jazz Camp, an intensive residency where emerging musicians collaborated under the guidance of some of Indonesia’s most respected jazz artists. Immersed in an environment centered on improvisation, ensemble communication, and creative exploration, Kalianto
