STRENGTHENING THE BONDS OF TOURISM AND FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN BODRUM AND PATMOS.

The visit of the Mayor of Patmos to Bodrum, international promotional activities and meetings have brought new opportunities for cooperation between the two shores of the Aegean to the forefront. A series of important meetings took place aimed at developing cooperation in tourism, culture and maritime affairs between Bodrum and the Greek island of Patmos.

Galip Gür, a Bodrum tourism professional, former World President of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Association, and currently Senior Advisor to the Association’s President and a Board Member, played an active role in coordinating these efforts.

Mayor of Patmos Nikitas Tsampalakis attends Bodrum Boat Show at the invitation of Orhan Dinç, Chairman of the Bodrum Branch of the IMEAK Chamber of Shipping. The event, an important gathering for the maritime industry, also provided an opportunity to strengthen relations between the two neighbouring tourism destinations.

During the visit, participants discussed Bodrum’s maritime and tourism potential, opportunities for mutual cooperation with Patmos and ways to increase tourism flows between the two destinations.
A Shared Goal: Sustainable and Reciprocal Tourism Cooperation. During the visit meetings highlighted new possibilities for joint promotional activities, tourism events, maritime transport and cultural initiatives between Bodrum and Patmos in the period ahead.

Galip Gür, who has been involved in international initiatives through the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Association for many years, underlined the growing importance of local destinations building international relationships and developing joint projects in tourism. These growing ties between Bodrum and Patmos are expected to further strengthen tourism, cultural relations and friendship on both sides of the Aegean in the coming period.

Vannes et le Golfe du Morbihan directement impliqués dans l’America’s Cup, avec le chantier Multiplast de Vannes qui a fabriqué des éléments essentiels du bateau français « La Roche Posay Racing Team», et son skipper, le vannetais Quentin Delapierre.

« La Roche-Posay Racing Team » a été la premiere équipe à mettre son AC75 à l'eau dans la baie de Naples. C'est là que se dérouleront les régates de la 38e Coupe de l'America en 2027.
« Voir notre AC75 à l'eau ici, à Naples, c'est un moment très fort pour toute l'équipe, commente le skipper Quentin Delapierre. On est sur le plan d'eau où se jouera l'America's Cup dans quelques mois et tout devient soudain beaucoup plus concret. Maintenant, on a surtout une envie : naviguer, faire voler ce bateau et vivre pleinement cette aventure jusqu'en 2027. » L’Equipe

Le président des plus Belles Baies du Monde Bruno Bodard, invité à participer à la réunion par Zoom de l’UICN, preparatoire à la COP 17 d’Erevan sur la diversité Biologique.

Notre satisfaction de savoir que l’UICN exhorte les parties à la nécessité de continuer à accorder une attention particulière à la biodiversité marine et côtière, notamment au regard des conclusions du rapport mondial sur les progrès collectifs, et renforcer la mise en œuvre du Programme de travail sur la biodiversité marine et côtière et de favoriser les synergies entre les processus pertinents en matière de biodiversité océanique.

Au Sine Saloum, l’UNESCO et les voyagistes misent sur un delta-laboratoire du tourisme durable

Inscrit au patrimoine mondial depuis 2011 et au cœur d’un programme de restauration des sols lancé en 2022, le delta du Sine Saloum cristallise au Sénégal l’enjeu d’un tourisme nature qui allie la protection d’un écosystème fragile sans le dégrader.

Dans ce contexte, le Sine Saloum devient la vitrine la plus emblématique de l’offre écotouristique sénégalaise, là où la valeur du séjour se joue moins sur l’infrastructure hôtelière que sur la capacité à préserver les mangroves, les bolongs et les pratiques de pêche artisanale qui font l’attrait du delta. Le classement du Delta du Saloum comme site du patrimoine mondial s’appuie sur la combinaison d’un paysage culturel façonné depuis des siècles et d’une biodiversité exceptionnelle typique des mangroves guinéennes de l’Afrique de l’Ouest.
La zone protégée couvre 145 811 hectares au sein d’un ensemble deltaïque d’environ 5 000 km², incluant plus de 200 îles et îlots, des canaux saumâtres, des forêts sèches et des amas coquilliers hérités de millénaires de collecte de coquillages.

Pour l’État sénégalais, cette concentration de statuts – réserve de biosphère, site Ramsar, parc national, patrimoine mondial – fait du Sine Saloum un pilier de son positionnement sur le tourisme nature et ornithologique.

Patmos with Grikos Bay likely to return as a member of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World.

Galip Gur, 1st Special Advisor of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World had the pleasure of meeting in Patmos with the Mayor of Patmos, Nikitas Tsampalakis, and Deputy Mayors Nikos Antonopoulos and Andreas Smarnakis.
During this meeting, they discussed the long-standing friendship between Bodrum 🇹🇷 and Patmos 🇬🇷 linked with the Aegean culture and opportunities for future cooperation.
They exchanged views on new membership in The Most Beautiful Bays in the World and discussed possible initiatives and projects within this Association in the coming period.

Visite de la Baie de Somme par Rachel Arseneau-Ferguson, Secrétaire Générale Adjointe des plus Belles Baies du Monde. Un bel accueil à la maison de la baie et de l’oiseau et des échanges fructueux entre les picards et la canadienne sur la bonne gestion des espaces côtiers.
