Elm Park Regeneration We are the only group in the borough that focuses its activities on showcasing local shops and amenity groups.

The Elm Park Regeneration Partnership was formed nine years ago, following a regeneration project funded by the London Development Agency. This programme focused on the environmental improvements of the area, training skills for residents and professional advice for businesses. Although this was welcome gesture, there was a strong feeling that the revitalisation of a community required a different and more inclusive recipe for regeneration. Hence the Partnership was formed as a non-profit making organisation, working for the benefit of the community.

New trees will be planted in the central reservation of the A1306 between Marsh Way and Dovers Corner in Rainham from 28 to 30 September as part of a regeneration programme funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The works will help improve biodiversity, air quality and the appearance of this key route into Havering. To allow the planting to take place safely, the inside lane in both directions will be closed and some bus stops temporarily suspended, which may lead to minor delays for road users during the works.

This creates a greener gateway into the Borough and a more attractive environment for residents, businesses and visitors.

Romford deep clean
A deep clean of Romford town centre has been carried out by Havering Council and its street cleaning contractors, FCC. The works are part of the Cabinet’s 100 Day plan which includes delivering improvements that residents expect to see, such as cleaner streets and town centres.

FCC contractors cleaning Romford Town Centre
FCC crews have been working from the early hours in the morning to carry out the deep cleaning, making the most of the time when there is less footfall.

They have been using specialised equipment such as a Gladiator MV7000 which includes a mechanical scrubbing deck and uses steam for deep cleaning large pedestrian spaces, alongside the teams using jet washers, and other mechanical sweepers.

The machinery enables the crews to get stubborn dirt from the pavements and areas in front and around local businesses, cleansing unsightly graffiti, washing street furniture, and cleaning street signs.

This work will help towards improving the overall appearance and cleanliness of the town centre
