In a knife attack that occurred at the Benedictine Abbey in Jarosław, Poland on September 24, a priest was killed and five people were injured. According to police reports, the attack took place around 9:30 a.m., when a 31-year-old Ukrainian man unleashed attack at the Benedictine Abbey on Benedyktyńska Street in Jarosław, killing Fr Stanisław Zbojnowicz and injuring five others, including three priests, a lay man and a lay woman. The slain priest was fatally stabbed in the chest. The assailant was later arrested. The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

In the wake of the shocking attack, Archbishop Adam Szal, the Metropolitan of Przemyśl, has requested prayers for the deceased priest, as well as for those who were injured in the attack. " Let us also pray for the perpetrator, for his conversion and sobriety, " the archbishop added, reminding the faithful not to use this incident to incite hatred but make it an opportunity for reflection, solidarity, and shared prayer for those affected.
