Praca is the biggest shelter in Bosnia, canton Sarajevo. After the Balkan war there were many stray dogs and local authorities created a place for dogs.

There was never a good care for dogs there; they were starved, traumatised and even brutally murdered. Puppies who entered this place usually died in a few days of common diseases as there is no proper veterinary care provided. There has been no source of water so in summer they have been suffering the heat and lack of water. Twice a week a group of volunteers has been feeding dogs staying there a

nd provided them with water thanks to help of private sponsors and non profit organisations. There are less and less dogs there now, as many local rescue groups were created and they save the dogs before they enter Praca. We are trying to save and rehome as much dogs as possible. We cant save them all, but we will try to save as many as possible.
