🇫🇷 Bilan de notre week-end de course 🏁
Ce matin, le grip de la piste avait nettement changé par rapport à hier. Nous avons profité des 15 minutes d'essais en fin de matinée pour ajuster les réglages et bien travailler sur la voiture. Les sensations étaient bonnes et nous étions plutôt confiants avant d'aborder la finale.
Cet après-midi, dès les tours de chauffe, la voiture s'est révélée assez délicate avec un comportement différent de la matinée.
Parti de la 2e position sur la grille, je réalise un bon départ. Malgré un train avant très vif et sensible autour du neutre, je parviens à me battre pour conserver cette P2 durant les premières minutes.
La suite a été plus compliquée : à 6 minutes de course, une légère faute sur un vibreur vient endommager un pneu. On passe par les stands pour effectuer un changement de pneus à 8 minutes. Malheureusement, peu après être reparti, je commets une seconde faute dans la grande courbe. La voiture est trop endommagée pour continuer : c'est l'abandon et la fin de la course pour nous.
Un grand merci à tous les bénévoles et aux organisateurs du Club de Modélisme du Bocage CMB pour leur accueil chaleureux tout au long du week-end. C'était un plaisir de venir découvrir ce tracé et de rouler sur votre piste !
On va continuer à préparer la suite : rendez-vous dans un mois à l'AMO Montpellier pour la Coupe de France ! 🚗💨
🇬🇧 Race weekend recap 🏁
This morning, track grip had changed significantly compared to yesterday.
We made the most of the 15-minute practice session in the late morning to tweak our settings and really dial in the car. The car felt good, and we were feeling pretty confident heading into the final.
This afternoon, right from the warm-up laps, the car proved tricky to handle, behaving differently than it had in the morning. Starting from P2 on the grid, I got off to a good start.
Despite a very sharp and sensitive front end around the center position, I managed to fight hard and hold onto that second place during the opening minutes.
Things got tougher after that: six minutes into the race, a slight error on a kerb damaged a tire. We pitted for a tire change at the eight-minute mark.
Unfortunately, shortly after rejoining the track, I made a second mistake in the long sweeping corner. The car was too damaged to continue, forcing us to retire and ending our race.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers and organizers for the warm welcome throughout the weekend. It was a pleasure to discover this layout and race on your track!
