On April 14, 2025, Season 2 of The Last of Us will be available on Max in France. Based on
the famous video game, the series follows Joel and Ellie in a post-apocalyptic world
overrun by infected humans. Exploring themes such as survival and parental love, the first
season captivated 4.7 million viewers. This new installment promises many twists and
turns.

On February 25, 2025, the renowned production studio Warner Bros. announced the
closure of three of its studios: Player First Games, Warner Bros. San Diego, and Monolith
Productions. This unfortunate decision includes the cancellation of several projects,
including the Wonder Woman video game. After commercial failures such as Su***de
Squad and Multiversus, this cancellation—following a $100 million investment—is a
major blow to the company. Warner Bros. now aims to rethink its internal strategy, focus
on safer projects, and regain the trust of investors and players.

The release of the Minecraft movie, an adaptation of the famous video game, is set for
April 4, 2025, in France. The story follows Steve, a Minecraft resident whose peaceful life
is disrupted when an evil entity kidnaps him. Meanwhile, four people enter this parallel
world through a portal. Together, they must face all sorts of dangers in hopes of returning
home.
Although the first trailer has divided fans, the film’s promising cast (Jack Black, Jason
Momoa) suggests an exciting adventure for viewers!

Released in August 2022, Cult of the Lamb is an action-adventure game blending cult
management, dynamic combat, and roguelike mechanics such as randomly generated
maps and permadeath. You play as a resurrected lamb-turned-cult-leader, tasked with
fighting enemies to collect resources. Praised for its originality, unique atmosphere, and
engaging gameplay, the game is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and
Xbox, offering an experience suitable for all players.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is an action-RPG game developed and published by Ubisoft,
scheduled for release on 20 March 2025. The 14th major instalment in the Assassin's
Creed series, the game is set in 16th-century Japan. Players take on the role of two
protagonists: a female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai inspired by the historical
character of the same name. Each offers a distinct style of play, allowing quests to be
approached in different ways. The game focuses on infiltration, combat and exploration
in a dynamic open world that reflects the seasons and cultural influences of the time.

The Hazelight studio, known for its landmark co-operative experiences, returns with Split
Fiction, an adventure and platform game. Expected to be released on 6 March, it plunges
players into a captivating universe where the imaginary comes to life. Designed
exclusively for a two-player co-op experience, Split Fiction tells the story of two rival
writers, Mio and Zoe, trapped in the imaginary worlds they have created. The game play
on offer is varied, with levels mixing fantasy and science fiction, and each offering unique
gameplay mechanics, such as flying on the back of a dragon or playing as spherical
robots.

Virtual wrestling fans can rejoice: WWE 2K25 promises an even richer and more realistic
experience than the previous game! Scheduled for release on 14 March 2025, this opus
will bring new features and enhance immersion in the WWE (World Wrestling
Entertainment) universe. More than 300 characters, inter-gender matches and new types
of combat will be available. With its wide choice of fighters, new game modes and
innovative mechanics, WWE 2K25 is a must-have for wrestling fans.

Every year, LudiNord, the board games festival, brings together enthusiasts for a weekend
of gaming. The 2025 edition, on 29 and 30 March 2025, will be held in Mons-en-Barœul,
near Lille, and will offer visitors more than 350 games tables, tournaments, events and
conferences, as well as prototype competitions to discover new designers.

Stream for Humanity is a charity event organised by Aminematue from 17 to 19 January 2025. It brought together 26 famous streamers, including Squeezie and Inoxtag, to raise funds for Médecins Sans Frontières. For 3 days, the streamers played a series of video games, dubbed and reacted to viral videos. The highlight was the football match between Amine’s team and Inoxtag’s at the Jean-Bouin stadium.

The event was a huge success, raising €3.5m for MSF and attracting 609,057 viewers on Twitch - a record for 2025!

Nintendo recently announced the Switch 2, which will be unveiled to the public in the first half of 2025. This improved console features a more robust joystick, magnetic Joy-Cons and a larger screen than the Switch 1, and will be compatible with both portable and TV modes. However, some Switch 1 games may not be compatible with Switch 2.

Since its release, the Nintendo Switch 1 has sold 146 million units, becoming the 3rd best�selling console after the PS2 and Nintendo DS.

After a six-year wait, Nintendo announced Mario Kart 9 with the Switch 2. Since 2014, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been the best-selling racing game in history, with 57 million copies sold. Although regularly updated, players have been clamouring for a new instalment.

No release date has been given, but we’ll surely find out more at the Nintendo Direct on 4 April 2025, where the Switch 2 will be unveiled.

Adapted from the video game Until Dawn, the film unveils its trailer: a time loop in which each death and respawn leads to the collection of new clues. Each replayed day introduces a new type of horror, creating a different experience from the game.

The film was produced by PlayStation and Sony in collaboration with David F. Sandberg (Annabelle 2) and Gary Dauberman (Ça, Annabelle). The film, which pays tribute to the game, will be released in cinemas on 25 April 2025

Pokémon TCG Pocket is a new mobile game released in France on 30 October 2024. Since its launch, the game from the Pokémon Company, a subsidiary of Nintendo, has been a huge hit with young people, with over 60 million downloads and revenue of almost €171 million in 89 countries.
Secondary school pupils, students and people in their thirties have all been won over by this new phenomenon, which is one of the best-performing mobile games of all time.

The Red Bull League of Its Own returned to the Accor Arena in Paris on 15 December for the final of the League of Legends World Championship. This year, the stakes were higher than ever, as more and more teams joined the list for an exclusive invite-only day. On this occasion, we noted the presence of the Korean team T1, and therefore of Faker, one of the best-known eSport players in the world.

It was an eventful day that provided fans with some brilliant emotions. T1, despite three early defeats, managed to rally and end the evening with two wins. Each match was a mixture of tactical decisions and individual skill, providing spectators with some spectacular moments.

The Game Awards 2024 ceremony held last December rewarded the best games of the year with a remarkable list of winners. Astro Bot was voted Game of the Year, praised for its immersive gaming experience and polished art direction. Next up, the game that won Best Multiplayer Game was Helldivers 2, thanks to its thrilling co-operative aspect. Balastro won Best Mobile Game, while Metaphor ReFantazio was awarded Best Narrative.

In 2 weeks' time, the famous Game Awards ceremony will be honouring the best games of the year.
From Call of Duty to Super Mario Party Jamboree, no fewer than 29 awards will be handed out over the course of the evening. For the past 10 years, this ceremony has celebrated a variety of categories, including best mobile game, best multiplayer game and best storytelling, showcasing the talent of the creators to the jury and the public.

The most eagerly awaited prize is, of course, Game of the Year, which represents the ultimate accolade for developers, rewarding not only creativity and innovation, but also the cultural impact of the game.
