To provide the opportunity and coaching to enable our disadvantaged youth to release their Champion

The Emet Academy was established by Emet Gyms to provide young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to train with Emet Gyms to either, improve sporting potential, become coaches within Emet Gyms or their own practices or to represent their province and ultimately their country in the sport of Powerlifting or all three.

And we are incredibly grateful to all our clients our friends and family who support got us to this point. Cap has worked so incredibly hard to get you and has taken full advantage of everything that has to offer and has far exceeded all of our expectations.

Cap you have proven that hard work honour and integrity and a passion for what you do and our clients can take you from the rugby fields of school to and onto to the world.

Coach was at for the Worl Classic and Equipped Benchpress Championships.

He sat down for with some of the best Benchpress and lifters in the world, their Coaches and the administrators and support teams to talk about what the sport and means to them, find out about the person behind the champion athlete and discuss value lessons about what it takes to get and stay at the top of your game. Lessons that we can all apply in our daily lives.

There were two threads that run through every single conversation firstly what makes powerlifting so special is The Incredible community and it's amazing support and secondly how the sport makes us feel about ourselves and how it is an opportunity to safely grow and evolve as an athlete and as a person.

Quality time is a foundation of a quality life.

Time spent bonding, connecting, sharing and communicating over a meal is one of the most valuable ways we have found to strengthen relationships, share openly and add value to our Coaches lives.

Empower, enhance and improve lives, that is how you add true quality to your own.

Sharing with others the challenges we have faced and how we work to overcome them can encourage them to do the same.

When we understand that we are not alone in our struggles, that there a people willing to help us learn to overcome and to heal, then we can start to do what is necessary to overcome them.

Believing that it can be done can be how we start the process.

Everybody who is part of our Team learns how to Powerlift!! Patience has blown everyone in the gym away with her strength, determination and courage. We are secretly grooming her to become a coach, but don't tell her.

"A dear friend of mine Jonathan Fransman said something to me 30 years ago and it had a profound effect on me with regards to giving charity.

"He said, " If you can't give money, give time."

This idea has stuck with me and is one of the foundational principles of our Emet Academy and my personal recovery.

There have been times in my life when I have not been able to give the amount of money to charity that I would have needed to. It was at those times in my life that I learned the incredible value and gift to me of giving my time. Because much more than giving money I was involved, I was able to interact with those who in my own small way I was trying to give to.

This filled my heart and fed my soul more than anything else I had ever done before in my life.

If you cannot give money, give time.

We are honored and grateful for the opportunity to provide at no cost a series of our Emet Gyms Fundamentals of Self Defense Workshops to an incredible organization within my community that does wonderful work for thousands of people.

Nothing in my life has added more value to my life then doing service. If you are going through a tough time if you're battling what seem to be insurmountable challenges add a little service to your life do something for those less fortunate without the expectation of anything back.

The Emet Academy is a small self funding organization, we do not alway have the financial resources to give funds to those in need, but we will always give our time where we can, to help.

Our Coaches are as proud as the rest of the Emet Gyms Team to have our logo up on the official IPF World Open Championships banners and t-shirts alongside the best companies in our sport.

We are proud to be a supporter of Powerlifting in South Africa and will continue to do so through the developing and supporting athletes and coaches from disadvantaged communities, through by livestreaming competitions and producing media content and through bringing Referees and Coaches as well as athletes from disadvantaged communities to the platform at Club, Provicial, National and International level.

This incredible sport has given us so much, we are grateful to be able to give back because it is our responsibility to do so.
